BTW, "tobob" is converting the Avia 51 to CFS2 for the SCW project. He will love your work here.

One, two, three, there is a smile on my face too now. Thanks!

I'm glad they may be of use to the CFS guys too.

Two questions Sir, before I grime them up and scratch them up a tad:

Do I keep the chrome exhaust?

Where do you estimate exhaust emissions from engines 2 and 3?

Wow! That is an excellent paint Nigel. Very colorful. I am glad to hear a CSF2 version is in the works.

The chrome exhaust is a no, no for the SCW scheme. :-/

In the new revised model, it uses a new texture on the msparts2.bmp. (thank you Oleboy :-)

The other engines' exhaust is out the top of the nacelles.

Exactly what I was hoping for. thanks.

If it would be possible to e-mail the single msparts2.bmp. texture, I'd be most obliged.

Still having internet issues here in 'wonderland'...couldn't download a pack of peanuts in the present situation...

Thanks John, you know as much as anyone, the rarity of reference material.

These textures began as ai paints. As texturing is not my usual line of sim work, I'll leave their wider usage to Milton's discretion.

    Nigel,

I sent that texture in the Avia51SCW package yesterday.

You can downsize that mspart2.bmp to 256X256 for the AI folder.

Once you provide the SCW textures, I will put together a production package for our main release.

If you are setting up the AI package just take my lead on texture sizes from the other two packages.

Or, send to me and I will set it up, your choice.

Thanks a bunch! Love this scheme.

We have an AI and scenery package Nigel has been working on and we have been testing for a while now.

That package will be released concurrently, but separately, with the aircraft package.

I will also include the SCW scheme in the release. Thanks Nigel! :-)

Just received the engine.bmp ... will check it out. Thanks :-)

Scratch the texture I sent for the engine. My graphics program had a fit for some reason and wouldn't render it as I intended it to be. I corrected, and sent a new file. Here's a capture in direct light.

Okay, I now have the package Milton.
    I couldn't dowload before.

I'm painting the Spanish textures in the same format as the normal '51 paints. So - finish up late tomorrow and forward to you for the release package.

Then I'll get on with finishing the traffic/scenery pack.

The new exhausts by OleBoy are excellent work.

I also found an intruder in the cockpit and booted him out at 10,000 somewhere over the Pyranees without silk.

The silly bugger was from the wrong side...don't know what the heck he was doing in a 'Republican' Avia.

So now I need a new 'volunteer' pilot...anyone?

Yeah, I suppose so...just giving wee Willy Winky a run for his money.

I seem to remember a 'rebellious' looking pilot in the Invader, sun glasses an' all.
...or another passenger...somewhere...just like Indianna Jones...bet he'd like some adventure in the Spanish Civil War.

    'Night all!

ps Will you just look at that Traffic! Beautiful early morning mist shots. The stuff dreams are made of...(alright Milton...I'm going).

I sent a progressive set of four engine textures Milton. Complete with added oil on the pushrods and crank case.

Sleep well, Nigel. Nice work by the way Sir.

Well, that passenger has almost as many polys as the aircraft, so ... sorry. :-/

It's also the reason I removed those pilots. I have some low poly figures to add. Will do tonight.

Milton, regarding my engine textures, scrap them. They look horrid. I need to step back and start over.

I do not see the issue sir.

Perfection does not come easily. It is not uncommon for me to spend a month on a fuselage shape, or 2-3 weeks on the cockpit window frame. I have redone the Avia 57 fuselage 3 times now (no 3-views), recut the windows twice. I have probably 100 hours in the fuselage. I know what you are talking about.

    Some late progress pics

Sorry this comes rather late, it took six hours to put up here.

    Hurricane91, Moses03, OleBoy:

Thanks for yesterday's encouragement guys- it means a lot to me...I hope the paintwork stands up to expectations.

The new, improved detail textures are a blessing. The exhaust textures and upper cowling intakes are particularly commendable, and made an immediate improvement.

    Nice work OleBoy, very professional.

If anythng below appears astray, now's the time to holler, Gentlemen.

    Milton:
I'll forward the textures to you as soon as I'm finished.
I'm sure you'll have a suitable parrot for the cockpit by then too.

    Just for the record:

Three of Milton's subjects were involved in the Spanish Civil War.
The Avia 51 and DH80 Puss Moth flew for the Republicans. The Spartan Executive was used by the Nationalists.

Looks GREAT Nigel. I like the soot effect coming out the rear of the main cowl. Nice touch!

I notice one small thing. Easily corrected. The nose cowl, the white is not also on the face of the cowl

Beautiful work and details. I love it!

Good catch OB; I didn't see that trying to take it all in.
