Not sure which mesh is needed to show right. It did not play nicely with mine (airport is surrounded by high peaks and rivers are flowing vertically on mountain sides) but I do not remember if I had any installed for South America.
I would also suggest to point the installer in a test directory and then transfer the contents (scenery and texture) to a new one made by you at your preferred location and activate in the library.
