What is winhlp32?
What is winhlp32?

Hi Devildog,
I've recently managed to get FSSC working on my Windows 10 rig, although it took a bit of fiddling with it and now I can't remember exactly what I did to get it working! At least I know that it can be done... I use version 1.2.5/1.2.7 and have it installed in the Program Files (x86) folder and started the FSSC.exe folder from there. As far as I can tell, I haven't got MSVBVM50.dll installed on my computer. I run the program with administrator privileges, compatability mode set to Windows XP (Service pack 2) and with the security name 'ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES'
I'm sorry if this isn't of much help - I'm not much of a computer 'geek'. I can e-mail you exactly what I have in my 'Leung Software' folder if that helps... As Robert John says, Airport for Windows seems to work OK as well (on a good day!). I've found that quite a lot of programs work on Windows 10 once you can get past the .exe stage. Best of luck with it.
Dick.

that's the update that puts the Win 10 icon on your taskbar - and if you delete it and you get a warning that this update is available you hide it - right ? that's supposed to prevent it coming back - yes? so why does this sob update sneak back in a couple of months later and you have go thru' the whole pain in the butt performance again ? this has happened to me a couple of times since I started this thread
anyone know wtf Microsoft are up do ? do they know wtf they're up to ?
baldy
its called they want everone using win10. and they want to get rid of IE. This is what happens when you have no real competition.

Hi Baldy,
The only thing I know of is to change your windows update settings to 'Download updates but let me choose whether to install them'. That way you can hide KB3035583 and not install it. KB3035583 will keep coming back as an important update, but you can now choose whether to install or hide it. Choosing whether to install or not also gives you the opportunity to select 'More Information' about the update so you can read what the update is for. Another one that has to do with Windows 10 is KB3123862, its info is at this link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3123862
Thanks Oglivie, a good idea - you get a warning of updates when going into shutdown but but I don't always remember to check them out - so thanks again

Hi Guys,
I recently upgraded my system.
I installed new graphic card and change operating system to Windows 10.
Though cfs2 is running and I can play games, I cant enable graphic card acceleration.
On display setting menu, it seems game detects graphic card but can't check the box of "enable hardware acceleration"
anybody have an idea how to fix this?
I tried to change security settings of Win10 and run the game as administrator, also tried to run the game in Win7 compatible mode but no joy.
My card is Geforce GTX960.
Yuki
P.S.
I installed latest graphic driver and also re-installed CFS2. Still no joy.
Anyone here ever experienced some problem?
Yuki
You may able to trick CFS2 into use the settings. Open you CFS2.cfg and find [DISPLAY]. Below your Device=NVIDIA Geforce GTX960
Mode=1680x1050x16
Add one of the following. Note: 0= Off. 1= On
Dither=1
Filter=1
TriLinear=1
The above are Filter Options. Only one can be one at one time. Dither= No Filter Filter = Bilinear Filter TriLinear = Trilinear Filter.
All 3 of the below can be on at the same time. MipMap = Mip Maping AntiAlias = Anti-Alias HWTnL = T and L.
MipMap=1
AntiAlias=1
HWTnL=1
So when your done your [DISPLAY] could loo like this.
[DISPLAY]
Device=NVIDIA Geforce GTX960 (\\. \DISPLAY1)
Mode=1680x1050x16
TriLinear=1
MipMap=1
Also have you tried to change to NVIDIA Geforce GTX960? It seems you stuck in 16 bit mode.
"Let Being Helpful Be More Important Than Being Right!" Some SOH Founder.
Yuki,
what does the [DISPLAY] section for your cfs2.cfg say?
Allen,
Thank you very much for responding.
I tried to change CFS2 config manually as you suggested but unfortunately, there is no joy yet.
The game seems still running 16bit 640x480 setting. Graphic is still bad.
- Also have you tried to change to NVIDIA Geforce GTX960? It seems you stuck in 16 bit mode -
Yes, I also tried to check video card settings but I don't have a enough knowledge for it.
I at least installed latest driver.
Is there any ways to check if I stuck in 16bit mode?
Any other programs as like Photoshop or EDIUS for video editing works fine with full acceleration of the card.
I am having problem with only CFS2............
Anyways, Thank you for your kind response.
Best,
Yuki
Hi Browncoat,
Thanks for responding.
I edited CFS2 config manually and it shows as
[DISPLAY]
Device=NVIDIA Geforce GTX960 (\\. \DISPLAY1)
Mode=1680x1050x16
TriLinear=1
MipMap=1
Disable=0
Yuki
Yuki,
I run a GTX970, and I have the same issue you do. I can't use the in game graphics setting for CFS2. Try copying this into your [DISPLAY] section of your CFS2.cfg file.
[DISPLAY]
Device=NVIDIA Geforce GTX960 (\\. \DISPLAY1)
Mode=1680x1050x32
trilinear=1
mipmap=1
AntiAlias=1
HWTnL=1
Hi Browncoat,
Thanks for your advice.
I tried it but still no joy.....
Did it solve your problem?
And what is your operating system?
what is your dirextX virsion? Mine us ver.12
I am wondering which causes this problem.
Video card or Windows 10? or Direct X
Anyways, thank you for your concern.
Yuki
For those of you having problems, and I may be off base on this, do you have CFS2 installed in the default Microsoft path, like C:\Program Files\Combat Flight Simulator 2 or anything like C:\Program Files\ something\something or very similar?
