    840 Evo SSD slowdown - heads up -

    Wasn't sure where to post this but Samsung is working on a new firmware update for a serious design flaw in their 840 evo's. Mine is affected... they claim only a small amount of people have the drive that has these issues...

    Anyway old data (older than 1 month) will be read at crazy slow rates (typical read is 450 mb/s, old data is only read at around 40-80 mb/s)

    You may though... They're saying the programs that report speed write new temp files then read those.

    its the older files you need to check.

    Either way I hope yours isn't affected.

    @TY ryanbatc!

    We never know when such messages come in handy. I checked Today my Evo 840 and here a results:

    Old files (ups):

    New files (is ok here):

    Not good I think. I havent here FSX, just P3Dv2 (it still waiting for better times) and some of meshes for both tittles so I didnt noticed any problems.
    Simply I dont fly in P3D since more than half a year.

    Here is a tool to repair this (I do backup now this SSD):

    Sweet... I'm sure a ton of their drives had this issue.
