Like the color photo of the war weary Dauntless squadron headed somewhere over the islands.
These are great photos, albeit there appear to be a few modern ones in there.
But can someone please tell me, in photo #6 (the B-17 ball turret), what exactly is the strange object above and to the left of the turret ??? A paddle ?
