Following the thread to the 377 section made me wonder if I should keep away from this. A2A should really consider updating their installers. Last summer when I reinstalled 377 I used five or six installers. With Accu-Feel I've lost the track and due to problems related to it I've kept it uninstalled. Keep it simple.

I have to agree. The multiple update installers are not needed IMO. One updated, core update installer with auto detect, or perhaps the option of selecting the aircraft installed would be a better choice.

    CORE Blimey ... I'm going in !

We don't make any incremental updates. At the most, each of our products has only one update and they can all be found here:
    http://a2asimulations.com/product_updates.html

The core update goes one step further. It is a single, auto-detecting update for the following aircraft:
    Spitfire I/II
    P-40 Warhawk
    P-51 Mustang Military
    P-51 Mustang Civilian
    C-172 Trainer

I've got two things mixed up here. Accu-Sim, and Accu-Feel. The later is to what I was referring.

Going OT here. This is what I mean. What versions need to be installed and what can I eliminate?

    Accu-Feel v1.0
    Accu-Feel_v.1.1
    Accu-Feel_v.2 Upgrade
    Accu-Feel_v.2.09_Update
    Accu-Feel_v2.091_Update

    Oleboy,

Just apply this single patch for Accu-Feel:

    That keeps things simple(er)

    Thanks Scott!

Instructions given in the above provided link state that the latest patch is applied over any version 2. So you have to go through the steps Oleboy listed. The problem is that if you have bought Accu-Feel or a plane immediately it came to the market you are not provided with newer installers, so you just have to through those multiple phases installing A2A products.

It is often six of one and half a dozen of the other. Some developers use incremental patching, some require you to re-download the installer and uninstall the old version prior to installing the new package. Not a real problem with 16Mbit/s DSL and a so-called flat rate for internet use. Not too hot for those with limited access and monthly limits. I can only think of those with access via mobile systems like 3G or LTE and a package with 10gb of traffic monthly. Such customers would be happy for incremental packs and not being required to pick up the new installer each time...

The fact that things get addressed and corrected with incremental fixes is great. However. Considering I (and I'm sure there are many others who) bought the product at early release, are in this same predicament. This puts us in a loop of installing each and every one of the incremental updates to obtain all of it's features to current release date. Currently supporters who started by purchasing version 1, are all doing the same. Just how long will this trend continue? From the sounds of it, indefinitely. This is something to look forward to. Accu-Feel currently has 4 additional install cycles in my case. I enjoy clicking on things.

As time passes the product evolves through the stages of advancement. To my understanding there has never been a release of a full installer. I think it's time Accu-Feel is made user friendly for the consumer.

Actually the mix is more confusing.

    Oleboy,

You only need one update, the latest one. That is v.2.091. We never do incremental updates to keep things simple.

    Scott.

This is where I get lost. This is what I read.

Version 2 was my original purchase
Version 1 is needed to install version 2
Then add the latest update to this?

Bare with me here Scott. I want to be sure not to delete the wrong files.

    Oleboy,

No problem, but for you right now, all you need is the original version 2 Accu-Feel installer and the latest v.2.091 update. This is the same for all of our aircraft. For this Accu-Sim core update v.1.6, it's just one update for five aircraft.

    Scott.

That's what I needed to know. I'll delete the others.
    Thanks for your patience.

    Hello guys,

If you ever have any questions regarding the update process please just ask on our forums, its what they are there for. For nearly all of our products only 1 update is ever required when reinstalling.

    Our popular community and support forums which includes the updates in the relevant simulation forums;
    http://a2asimulations.com/forum/index.php

    Product updates list is also available on the website here;

    thanks,
    Lewis
