It sure has been an Herculean effort to see these planes in US markings!

The C-27J is a fine aircraft and I'm one who supported getting them for our Military but in the current fiscal climate, the money is being re-routed towards more C-130J's and other types. This could change later and more C-27J's could come about but with Boeing now partnering with Embraer on the C-390 Jet which has projected performance, range, and payload numbers that eclipse the C-27J and being in the same size range, I suspect the Air Force will be paying close attention to that aircraft and give it serious consideration for Utility & Special Operations roles.

I am glad the C-27J's that were mothballed are being sent to the CG. I hope Elizabeth City will get some of them? Would be great to see them overhead.

Here's a couple of photos that illustrate how long the C-130 has been around...
