Most of us are quite familiar with the names Rickenbacker, Doolittle, and Lindbergh. In fact,....most of us can go into a fair amount of biographical detail on each flyer. I was a bit ho-hum leery when I learned of (another) historical aviation book by Winston Groom. So I picked it up and gave it try. Boy,....was I grabbed immediately by Groom's candid plain style of writing to learning so much more about their personal and professional lives. Groom deftly weaves back and forth from chapter to chapter the saga of these three extraordinary Americans. In a folksy style,....Winston Groom takes you beyond the Spirit of St. Louis flight, the downing of so many WWI German aircraft by Captn' Eddie, or the Doolittle Raid. Pick it up,...you won't be disappointed. I give it four stars.
