    Alphasim Kamov KA-27/32 freeware!?

Looks like the wonderful Alphasim Kamov KA-27/32 has become freeware.
There are so many nice Russian helicopters out there now, that I couldn't resist to download this from avsim.su...
My only concern is that it might not be freeware! I can't find it on the Virtavia/Alphasim freeware site, and all other paints and comments point to a payware package.
Well, I'll keep on flying her until I know. It is a fantastic helicopter!

edit: Better get rid of it! Though it's on the Russian Avsim site, it is still for sale at SimMarket and Virtavia.

Hey Stuart, that Kamov is well worth it's price from virtavia , it may be an old model now but still the only game in town if your into Soviet naval heli's.

It's not on the official freeware list. Does anyone have a quick contact to the current Virtavia admins?

It looks like the admins over at avsim.ru have removed it, Tom. I looked extensively and couldn't find anywhere in the FS9 or FSX sections. I have always informed Frank Safranek here at SOH about these kind of issues....

There was some earlier confusion on the Russian site as well. I believe one moderator was asking someone else if Virtavia had for sure taken over Alphasim - meaning, apparently, there was some confusion on their part as to whether Virtavia was "legit.":mixedsmi:

As of a few minutes ago, this was still up on the avsim.ru site.

Yep... it's still there. I was looking in the FS2004 Aircraft section, not the FS 2004 Helicopters. I will fire off an e-mail to Frank.

Edit: I sent Frank Safranek an e-mail as well as a PM.

Just for anyone who doesn't know, Virtavia and Alphasim are one and the same. It was just a name change years ago when they started making only new stuff for FSX. Only those items on the freeware page at Virtavia have been released as freeware. ANYTHING you see elsewhere that is for FS9 or FSX is an illegal copy. You can always contact myself or Mal998 if there is a question and we'll get ahold of Phil and deal with it.

Thank you Tom for sending me the PM and an email. I wrote to the webmaster at avsim.ru and then told Phil. Apparently Phil had had to contact them the day before regarding the Helix bing on their site.

Good to know it's being handled. Hopefully, the Russians will handle the situation.
