I'll release an update shortly that fixes all the issues that have been brought up so far.
Australian coastwatcher Reg Evans has a new home on Kolombangara now. He most likely didn't live that way, but maybe we can give him a bit more comfort in the sim :-)
Off to package the update now,
Mark

theres a documentary called the Lost Fleet of Guadalcanal that i watched just last night that had either Mr Evans or a contemporary featured in it..
Interesting!
In the screenshot above "he" is facing the Blacket Strait, by the way, between Arundel island and Kolombangara. That's where JFKs PT109 was hit and sunk.
And here's a bit of history on Arthur Reginald Evans, for those who are interested:

finally got round to installing the Solomons, and an outstanding scenery I must say! I can see I'll be busy for a while..
You can find most of my repaints for FSX/P3D in the library here on the outhouse.
For MFS paints go to flightsim.to
Just heard the news: MAJOR earth quake at the Solomons a few hours ago!! :-(
So true! There are so many cool, historically accurate aircraft to consider flying: fighters, bombers, patrol, amphibians, etc. Then there are the warships and carrier ops. It's a real playground, plus beautiful settings everywhere. So much to do, fly and explore ... especially for a Corsair enthusiast
Am also enjoying flying the RealFlight F6F and JF F4F. Re the A2A F4U, where can one find good repaints for this beast??
Striker, listen, and you listen close: flying a plane is no different than riding a bicycle, just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes.
I'll leave the good or no good to others, but try here.

Thanks Jankees - I have and enjoy your great artwork!

Getting a weird error message trying to access the Aussiex site with both IE and Chrome . .

OK, seems to be working now.

Hi Mark,
I just want to say thank you very much for this beautiful scenery. It made me making a donation to sim-outhouse.

Thanks for the update Mark.
Hello,
What an remarkable achievement!
I was going through appropriate planes for this scenario. Obviously most of you fly Corsairs and P-38s. I rolled out Catalina, Grumman Goose (?) and L-4, but did not find proper paint for C-47. Were they from Navy, Marines or AF? I could use default or Manfred Jahns C-47...
The time looking forward to go for a test flight in my F4u ...thanks..... just got back into FSX lots to get up to speed on ....the Dog
The Dog.....Osudog......Ohio USA
I only have 14 airstrips showing up in the"select airport" box in FSX. I have re- downloaded and re-installed . same thing. HELP!!
Thanks
Sam
Not sure I have any more than that in the beta.
