The AP and other news outlets are now reporting that the woman lied about being attacked. Apparently she set herself on fire, for reasons yet unknown.

After having investigated this sort of thing for 23 years you learn to look very hard at every possible angle of a case before you draw any conclusions. It's like a jeweler examining a diamond, every facet of it. You learn quickly to look hard at the victim as well as any possible perps. This sort of thing happens a lot more frequently than you may believe. What she did may have set race relations in that part of Louisiana back a few years. At any rate - like I said before, she definitely needs help.
