well the Ju-52 is the easy part, I'm afraid the translation part is the harder no go bit.

Hi stiz, no sweat, I am German, let´s see, whether my English is good enough to get those technical terms properly translated.

    First picture:

    1. starting switch
    2. levers for valve battery / battery valve (whatever these levers do, they operate some valves I think)
    3. mains circuit / contact breaker
    4. magnets switch
    5. adjust switch
    6. ignition switch (4, 5 and are ignition switches = Zündschalter)
    7. stop lever for idling mixture (this is only a guess, "Normalgas" isn´t exactly a common term)
    8. levers for idling gas regulation
    9. levers for gas at cruising level (definitely carburettor regulation, I found "Höhengas" in an article about operating an airship)
    10.turn and slip indicator toggle
    11.slaved gyro toggle
    12.fire extinguishing valves
13.dimmer for instrument lighting - could it be a Junkers 88 ? "Leuchtrahmen" are
bakelite frames with a plexiglas covering which provides optimal lighing of the instruments
(specific Junkers-technology as far as I could find out).

    Second picture:

    1. handwheels / jogwheels for lubricant cooling (Umgehungshahn = bypass valve or something like that)
    2. handwheels / jogwheels for engine bonnet adjustment (I wonder what this thing is for, maybe cooling purposes ?)
    3. injection stopcock
    4. nebulizer distributor cock
    5. nebulizer injection pump
    6. handwheel for compressed air tank
    7. handwheel for outboard compressed air valve
    8. handlebar for compressed air pressure reduction valve

  5. #5
    Third picture:

    1. Hell, no idea what a "Düsenschauzeichen" is, some indicator intrument for jets)
    2. airspeed indicator
    3. heading indicator
    4. Sperry attitude indicator
    5. clock
    6. variometer / vertical speed indicator
    7. heading indicator (for autopilot)
    8. altimeter
    9. turn and slip indicator
    10.approximate / accurate altimeter
    11.compass
    12.lubricant thermometer (issue / spillage)
13.electrical (remote) rev counter for outer engines("fern" means remote, quite archaic terms I think)
14.mechanical (remote) rev counter for middle engine
    15.lubricant pressure gauge
    16.fuel pressure gauge
    17.(remote) lubricant thermometer (inlet)
    18.pressure gauge for fire extinguisher
19.double pressure gauge for compressed-air brake cylinder and pressure reduction valve
20.double pressure gauge for brake left and right
21.electrical thermometer for outside air temperature
    22.cover plates
23.instrument lighting, see translations first picture no.13., for me it looks like indirect lighting, I´d call it dashboard light

To be continued, hope I could help a bit ..... :-)

    edit: misspellings

    Fourth picture:

    1. lead conduit
    2. ampere meter
    3. switchboard with distribution board, switches and fuses
    4. voltmeter
    5. socket for hand lamp
    6. spare fuse panel
    7. remote disconnector
    8. operating lever
    9. spare fuse panel (at right side wall)
    10.momentum swich
    11.hand lamp mounting / holder

That´s it for now. Please inform me about mistakes and wrong translations, I had to acknowledge, that small talk and newspapers are a lot easier to handle than technical terms .....

    Third picture:

    1 visual indicator nozzle
    2 airspeed indicator
    3 course indicator
    4 Sperry horizon
    5 clock
    6 vertical speed indicator
7 course selector (done via small crank handle)
    8 altimeter 0-10000 m
    9 turn indicator
10 altimeter, precision and roughly display
    roughly 0 - 10000 m
    precisely 0 - 1000 m
    11 compass
    12 lubricants remote-reading thermometer (exit)
13 electric RPM remote-reading (side engine)
14 mechanical RPM remote-reading (middle engine)
    15 lubricants pressure gauge
    16 fuel pressure gauge
    17 lubricants remote-reading thermometer (entrance)
    18 fire extinguisher pressure gauge
19 double pressure gauge, air brake bottle, pressure reduction valve
20 double pressure gauge, brake left and right
    21 electric thermometer OAT, remote-reading
    22 switch OAT thermometer
    23 cover plate
24 illumination frame (for instrument/gauge lighting)

    Picture 4:

    1 cable duct
    2 ampere meter
3 switch board with distribution board, switches, fuses
    4 volt meter
    5 hand lamp socket
6 spare fuse block (engine frame 3)
    7 remote disconnecting switch
    8 shift lever
9 spare fuse block (r/h side plate)
10 Momentary switch (this is a switch that switches only at the time of operation and when it is released back into the OFF position jumps back, some kind of "deadmanshandle")
    11 hand lamp mounting
    Greetings

Aaaah, specialist at work, thanks Dieter, better job than mine
Only the "Halter für Handlampe" is definitely not a switch (picture 4/11)

    Greetings

    cheers guys

anyone know why theres 2 different altimeters?

    8. altimeter 0-10000 m

    10. altimeter, precision and roughly display
    roughly 0 - 10000 m
    precisely 0 - 1000 m

does it mean that 8 is a general one (like you'd get in any other plane, BF/ME109 for example) and 10 measures it more acurately for low level flying below 1000m and is a backup to the over one for over 1000m but with a bit of error in the readout??

sorry for my double posting, didn' see yours before I published my posting, must have been only minutes inbetween.
This was not meant to be some kind of correction!

Your objection is correct, no. 11 is not a switch but a holder or mounting for the hand lamp.

I can help with a couple of them...(I'm just conversational German...and it's German-from-Russia slur). My technical German is mostly limited to electrical and some basic mechanical stuff.

    1. Oil cooler control wheels. These open/close the oil cooler doors.
    2. Engine cowl flap control wheel. Open/Close the cowl flaps for cylinder cooling.

If I remember, I'll pop back in tomorrow morning after work and see if I can dig out a few more.

    Hi Dieter,

I didn´t take it as correction, no problem.

Most important, we could help stiz.
And after all it was me correcting you ....

Exactly, the second one was used for landing and low altitude operations to provide more precision.
Great that Aunt Ju is progressing
