definately a good film. It'll come in handy after we have a VC to work with.. They pack a lot of information into that little half hour though.. i wonder how many pilots first thought they'd never get it right :;lol:;
Hi Pam,
For the VC builder I wonder if Milton is prepared to help? I also know N2056 is doing 3D gauges but is it possible he can also help with the VC? Maybe (and this is a longshot) even Bill - Lionheart could help?
just a couple ideas...I know some are not S-1's but....they look cool....

this one I just love the color....how about with an N number??

Fannntastic..
Alright guys.. its full speed ahead.. lets make an airplane ..
Skyhawk.. great shots of the Pitts you did good..
Ok Guys.. we have a room set up on teamspeak with a file server.. Actually, we have two rooms on the teamspeak server.. The main room is password protected, but the conference room is open to all.. File downloads are also password protected with a second password, so i will need to get you those two passwords..
Taking a lesson taught to me by David Brice, i want the public to be able to see how the plane develops and grows so dont be worried about posting pics or talking about it..
PM me for the passwords. I know who my folks are :0 I'll also explain how to access and download the files. it isnt hard ..
i wont have a mic set up till after i buy one tomorrow, so bear with me if you log onto teamspeak today..
the teamspeak addy is -www.sim-outhouse.net (without the - ). use your sim outhouse name to log on..
Pam
Welll, the P-61b on all but the earliest versions carried a pilot a gunner and a radio operator which were seperated into two main compartments, so it's cetainly feasable to have two seperate people doing the interior.. however, Bill has been working hard on the 797 and his upcoming plane, and N2056 has two other projects besides ours that he's doing.. perhaps at a later date.. Till then, we work on textures and flight modeling.
Well, hopefully we can get all of the variants.

Anybody with factory/manufacturing dimenstioned drawings of the pits? I can "cobble" them together in AutoCAD and send them to Crashaz in a format he can use in 3Dmax.
BUT, I need dimensioned drawings ... I don't do the "tug and pull" vertices thing with pasties.
Anyone seen my locomotive has an idea of how I model in AutoCAD.

well this is an entertaining thread - I'm all fired up on the sidelines and wish I had more to offer than moral support.
Here's hoping ya'll can keep the ball in the air and get 'er done!
In the meantime, watching all the give and take is just great.
Cheers babe
And cheers right back atcha mate .. We'll take that moral support by as much as we can get.. Reading through the documentation i have, i was laughing my ass off at some of the reports that came back from first time pilots who were taken up for an introduction ride by Northrops main test pilot.. thinking it was going to be slow, awkward and verutable bullet bait 9 like any bomber sized aircraft 0 they all pretty much needed a new change of pants after Meyers put the girl through her paces.. Course, if I was sitting in a veritable freight train in a nose dive at 420 mph i'd probably need a change of pants too..
Here's an interesting way to get modeling info...this is the left side of the cockpit :d
Ok...I now have my Adobe CS3 up and running on my new system......ready to do some paint work......
how and when?
crashaz has the main model.. you and Jankees have the job of dividing up textures between you.. You can start as soon as youd like.. You'll need to log onto the TS server and into the main P-61 project ro9om.. once there, hi-lite the words P-61 project and right click or select the p-61 projectr tab 9 i think at the bottom of the window but not sure ) and right click on P-61 project and select the option to open the file browser.. You need a password for both the P-61 project chat and the Browser..
theres all kinds of documentation in the file area as well as the model and the Alpha zero flight model..
I've been swamped with local responsibilities and life for the past two days but hopefully it will ease up a little tomorrow afternoon and i will be more available..
I tried to log into the site but was unable to......I've never used it before so its all new to me.
In this case it works because O-Scale rail models are 1:48, which is the scale of the P-61 model kit I went out and bought. :salute:
It at least puts me in the ballpark :d
fortunately, most things can be re-scaled in max..
Skyhawk.. did I PM you the password??
On a serious note...It turns out that the model is in 3dsMax format. I have Gmax. I have PM'd to Crashaz about converting it (which requires Max). For me that could be bad as it is best to have all the modelers using the same program. I'm waiting to hear back from him on that.
Hey Pam,
I just found this thread. This thing must have a lot of rivets... I like rivets.
If there is space for one more painter, count me in. If need be I can get Gizmo on to this too, you see the band is back together.
Cheers
Butch
Damn Butch. i thought you'd never ask .. Welcome aboard and glad to have you.. If Gizmo can join us that would be fantastic too..
right then.. First order of business is to create a standardized paint kit for it.. i'll leave that to you to work out with Jankees and SkyHawk..
Theres a ton of resource files on the TS server that were graciously donated by jankees. PM me and I'll give you the passwords you'll need.. Crashaz has the original model so i suppose everything will need to be based off it.. not being a painter, i'm only guessing but i think thats right..
I'm off for a bit to take care of some business down at the office, but wll return shortly.. Looking forward to your PM..
Pam
Well I guess if N2056 is gonna model pits, I'll bow out then.
