Today is the Day... Ickie is working on the servers

Today, Ickie is buying 2 new servers, 1 linux and 1 windows 2008...

Ickie is working real hard. He has things turned off.... so it will be a little below normal here!

Let us all thank Ickie for his dedication to SOH and all his hardwork.... :salute:

    These are brand new Dells
    server specs (both servers)
    Intel quad core 2.5 GHz
    1 terabyte Hard drive
    4 gigs of ram
    2000 GB bandwidth
100 MB network (hole to the internet)
    1 linux and 1 windows 2008

Note it will be 24-72 hours for the windows server to be online for us to migrate too, lol ..... soh.net

Next week I will move soh.com to the new linux server

    Edit:

We are still short of $2,610.00

If you have not donated yet, this is your chance to show SOH you care...

For those who cannot donate for some other reasons, let us just say thank you Ickie, we appreciate you!!

For doing this necessary and oft annoying work of upgrading, all involved have my thanks and much admiration for the skills and patience demonstrated.

I can't donate monetarily since I haven't had a steady job in over a year, but if there is anything else I can do until then just ask.

And if anyone knows of anyone needing AutoCAD, Inventor or Solidworks work done, please let me know. My fortay is 2D work but I got skills in 3D as well. They don't call me CADFather because I'm pretty.

Ickie is a Godsend, folks! Time to tell it true!

He not only manages the server for this large website, but for many other smaller ones!

    Cheers,

    Ken
