    Beginner Books on Digital Photography

I recommend this one for completeness, practicality, and readability.

I got mine at B&N in the discount section for around $10.

My first book was Understanding Exposure, by Bryan Peterson. It is probably the most popular beginner photography book out there.

I've also got a couple "Real World" series books on photoshop and camera raw that are absolutely incredible. They go into crazy detail.
