Wordpad and notepad aren't working. I don't have Microsoft word guess I'll have to download it. Haven't gotten it yet since I changed to Windows 7. Believe me I know how to use note or word pad to edit cfg's! Just wanted to know which specific program was used so I could get it.
If government was the answer, it was a stupid question!

]Use Notepad Mud, don;t complicate your life with MS Word, which is part of costly Windoz Office. get Java's Open Office, does the same thing, even edits /xml files fine for me. And it's free and unblotted, unlike MS Office 1007.

Notepad and Wordpad both should be in Accessories and are part of any MS OS. If your .cfg files should something other than Notepad, right-click on the file and click Open With and choose Notepad.

I do all .cfg file; aircraft.cfg, panel, cfg, even the FS9.cfg (ditto FSX.cfg) in Notepad. It is the simpliest text editor in Microsoft and so easy to use.

Thank you Cees! I really wasn't trying to be a pain in the ass.........I'm just trying to figure out why the cfg file looks like some kind of alien script?:isadizzy: Some times I just don't get MS windows products, they do the strangest things!

This is a thread I've dreamed of seeing....
I've been flying the He-100 in Fs2004 for some time now... I also fly the He-112 and Fw-187 with no trouble- I just add a Banana Bob prop and off I go!
Of those three planes, I think the He-100 is the best done- but then, I like the 100 so much I designed and built a paper cardmodel of the He-100V8 speed record holder. What I wouldn't give to see a reworked, updated rendition for FS2004 of either the He-100 (any version) or the Fw-187V1...
I'm anxiously looking forward to whatever repaints for the He-100 that you create, Cees- thank you very much!

At the moment I'm working on a paintkit that will enable me to crank out all possible versions. Everything is new regarding the textures, based on the standard bmp's. New colors, decals etc. I'l post some screenies when I can...

    Allright guys,

Here's a beta version of my first repaint of this very nice plane. I used DXT1 Bitmap manipulator to overhaul all textures, thus reducing the download size. I managed to get black tires, but I don't know how. I repainted the pilot (partly), gave him a grey uniform and a moustache. The profiel I used is from a book about the Jagdwaffe, from a series of books I always use for repaint reference. Apart from exhaust dirt the plane is clean, as it saw no service at all. It was a blast to make my first paintkit! I can crank out all the versions and even some imaginary ones.

What do you guys think of the repaint? (see post 38)

Cees, your repaint is great. Thank you very much. Now for some fictional repaints, Italy, Japan, or Vicy France???? Take care.

Anybody: Do you know how to extend the RADIATOR? Thanks in advance. Ed :mixedsmi:

  20. #45
The radiator is set to either the Concord Nose/Visor or the Cowl Flaps.

    Hey Cazzie,

Check this out: I changed some hard coded colors of the model! The rear of the cockpit is now Schwarzgrau, AND the prop is RLM 70: Schwarz-Grün! You'll find it in the mdl in the attachments here....

I think the exhaust pipes are hard coded too. Any suggestions for coloring?

    Cees

  25. #50
Another question, the exhaust effects in the zip are for CFS2 and do not work in FS2004, any good ideas what effect to add? Thanks in advance.

    Ed

Cees, the color of the exhausts now are red/orange? Hmm, dark grey or almost black perhaps, would be hard to see the exhaust pipes if just black on black.....
