    Landed Safely at NWWW!

Wow what a trip! Landing at night in the rain dampened nary a soul’s excitement! And what seemed like every 15 minutes, I had to explain to Capt. Farrell's little boy (as he would burst onto the Flight Deck) "No, we won't see Capt. Jamie Waring (Tyrone Power) and Lady Margaret (Maureen O'Hara) because they live on Tortuga... not Tontouta where we are going." Hahaha Boss... very funny to tell your son we are going to Tortuga to see the pirates. It's a miracle we didn't end up there. :-P

Another Pacific Traveler! Our navigational skills will be tested, unlike those chaps over in North America and Europe, where they have NDB stations every 5 miles or so. Did you see any of those yellow life rafts sprinkled across the sea about half way over? Those would have been from my ill-fated Lockheed the first time around...

    Sry Paul no I didn't

Our Flight Crew has been so busy, most of the time looking outside is a luxury. Glad tho you found a replacement craft and you're keepin' on keepin' on.

Two Photos... having landed before sunrise, once again in the rain (who cares! it's Fiji ! :d )

and the 2nd just after sunrise: this is what happens when you and the crew all hold A&P's... everyone goes to the beach while you stay back to do maintenance checks (but who cares! it's Fiji ! :d ).

Edit : Dang, Sorry All about the first pic.... Cameraman obviously forgot to heed the "Too Dark, Use Flash" warning from the camera...

Computer Crash: Seems it was video driver related (I never have cared for this nVidia 185.85) Got a pic of taskmgr just before the whole screen went blank.

After a hard reboot, no Duenna FlightLog was to be found (just the SystemLog).

Very Disappointing... time to install the latest 186.18 and hope that works w/o issue.

Too Bad about the computer crash.

I hope it didn't crash while you were on final. Man I hate that. Sometime I'll tell you about my OOM while carrying the baton into Rotterdam.

    Hi Jeff,

Yeah... first one since one during RTWR and it's disconcerting. Happened during climb... roughly around 20,000'.

But I will say every time I am on final, that thought is in the back of my mind.

    Absolutely Incredible!

Our Navigator, having performed impeccably until now, has earned the nickname “Dog Leg” after last night’s “near-fiasco.” Winds at FL250 were 100+ kts. Capt. Sydney’s timing to visit the flight deck was also “impeccable” as he walked in just seconds before the ADF needle swung to life… Good thing all the kids were in bed. We were all shook up, as it seems our “Nav-Man” was way off on the time to station also. “I don’t know what happened, and I don’t want to know…” I heard him say later. Fortunately we got our heads back into the game by the time we crossed over Isla Robinson Crusoe and landed without incident.

Glad to see you made it across the Pacific Capt. That is one nice track you left behind you, and that Robinson Crusoe Island is not big by any means. Congratulations!
