    LFQP Phalsbourg AB Scenery

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category FS 2004 Add-Ons

    Description: FS2004 Phalsbourg-Bourscheld Air Base (LFQP) 1955-1962

Number 5 in the series USAFE French Air Bases

From 1950 to 1967 the USAF set up and maintained bases in France, with the agreement of the French government, as part of its commitment to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Phalsbourg AB was one of the ten main air bases which supported both attack and air defence capabilities. Many people do not appreciate the sheer extent of the USAF bases in France at this time and the reasons leading to the USAF departure in 1967.

This scenery and traffic depicts Phalsbourg AB as it was in the mid 50s when it first became active to the early 60s. It includes 4 Traffic files depicting aircraft and squadrons present in 1957 (23rd Helicopter Squadron Flying the CH-23 Shawnee), 1958 (RF-84F Thunderflash and F-86D Sabre Dog), 1959 (RF-101C Voodos and F-86D) and 1962 Depicting the Massachusetts Air National Guard 102nd Tactical Fighter Wing and its three fighter squadrons, the 101st, 131st, and 138th Flying the F-86H. All but the F-101's custom painted by DeltaDart. Various other support aircraft present as well. By Al Von Pingel

    Hi

Love the scenery, but missing some repaints.

Can someone point me in the right direction for the Massachusetts ANG 102nd Tactical Fighter Wing repaints please.

Thanks guys. They do look alike as they were all built at about the same time with standardized plans. If you think they look alike from the air try building 5 of these sceneries at pretty much the same time and keeping all the squadrons strait with who was were when flying what aircraft and all the ai paints Deltadart was doing for this project and of course more to come (with Ian’s help). Lots of fun.

    Al
