Black scenery squares

Has anyone found some scenery doing this. These squares seem to be the default areas.

That looks like landclass texture problem. Have you installed any scenery with own landclass which also has own texture/modified texture files for landclass area recently?
You should check any scenery addon that has been installed for that area.

Thanks ToniJH , I've been building this SW install for a VERY long time and have no doubt done that very thing multiple times. Those squares do pop into ordinary scenery view when you get close, so it's not that a deal. Just wondering.
