    Back in the open-cockpit, salt-on-your-flight-jacket days of VP aviation. Nice aerial tour of Annapolis... Both the camera aircraft and the subject aircraft did some fairly tight turns and steep descents.

    Hand cranking the dynamos.

    I was really lucky back in the late 90's. There was a small group in Auburn, Me. that was trying to restore a Connie (I'm pretty sure parts of it wound up in the Breitling Connie) and I got to be there (up close) when they lit off the four engines to do a run-up.

    THAT was the sound and smell.. of victory.
