Maybe because there's a bigger market for Dune?

This is great. I hear a Godizilla minus one scenario is next. You fly Mothera.

I think I'd rather have THIS, and all the missions to go with it:

Trash, even if it is free, its download is occupying part of my MSFS and I don't care to have it there.

    Tough crowd here, huh?

I must have been the only person who looked at the Ornithopter in Dune and thought "I bet that would be cool as all heck to fly"

I have learned today that I was absolutely correct. Can't beat the view out the side windows, really.

I'm a proponent - I really do hope Fallout Vertibirds get some love in MS..
being optional I expect this kind of content to attract more people than it chases away.

I'm with you. I love flying the sim realistically, but I'm also up for a bit of downright fun. I mean, it's not very realistic for me to scoot through the Grand Canyon at low level in my F-14 either, really; but darned if it isn't exciting. The Dark Star is fictional, too; and I've had great fun at hypersonic speeds in that one. I've also enjoyed other "what if" planes and flights (the very fun Scrapyard Monster comes to mind). If you're a purist, that's fine, too.

Personally, I've always wanted the dropship from Aliens in the sim with an orbital launch so I can say, "we're in the pipe -- five by five," while screaming through storm clouds. For now, I'll settle for the Ornithopter.

There seem to be some issues with the install as per some of the msfs forum threads. Control profiles are changed. I've noticed that when pressing pause, I get a fixed rear camera view, whereas before I could move around the aircraft. "Y" keyboard key no longer allows me to slew the aircraft. Not happy, not happy at all.

WARNING! If you install this addon, it will NUKE many of your control settings which you will have to re-bind. It took out all my Trim assignments, most views, and a number of other things. Asobo screwed this one up VERY badly! Infuriating isn't the word. Oh, and uninstalling won't revert things back.

The issue has been reported, so far it looks like the claimed fix fails to work. I guess there was no beat testing? SMH...

As in: the saved profile is altered, and cannot be reverted??
If yes, then I will become an ornithopter expert until MS2024 is released

Didn't install it. It's not mandatory, so nope.

I agree with alx, as long as it does not alter the MSFS Flight dynamics as discussed on another thread here at the SOH and takes us down to one engine + 3 shotgun shells.

This is one of my all-time favorite movies. It would be cool to have the weight and balance based on how many people you have holding on to your wings.

Now THAT's an idea! I wonder if they could make us assemble it first, like a 3D puzzle?

The flight of the Phoenix, Legend!
My brother-in-law was named after the actor who played the German engineer, Hardy Krüger.

OK, Mister Dorfmann ! Start pullin !!

P.S. we had that thing in FSX/P3D didn't we. Who flew it more than one time only ?.... Fantastic movie ! That is the *first* one from 1965 ! With ,James Stewart, Richard Attenborough and Hardy Krueger. The second one was totally unnecessary.
