32" Dell to 42" LG OLED

Made the jump from my overall pretty decent Dell 32" 1440P S3220DGF (1,800r curved) to the 42" LG OLED (variable from flat to 900r curved) Flex today. Still figuring out the new monitor, but holy smokes - what a difference. I honestly thought I wouldn't have the space for such a large monitor, but it's as if my desk was designed for this...
The "immersion" in MSFS is incredible!

I bought it for $1,999 through the AAFES "Exchange" site. However, if you don't have any military service, you can get it from Amazon or Best Buy. AAFES doesn't charge tax has free shipping via FedEx. I ordered it on Sunday Dec 31, and received it yesterday Jan 6, - pretty fast overall.
The sale price of just under $2,000 is the lowest I've seen it. Normally priced at $2,499, but it typically goes on sale for $2,299, however, I'd imagine it could go lower than ~$2,000 if LG releases an updated version and they offer these on clearance. The release price last year was $2,999. Don't get me wrong, $1,999 is still a chunk of change, but a discount of $1,000 off the release price, and $500 off the normal price is significant.
I could go on and on about the immersion of this over smaller monitors, but it's really something you have to experience in person.

PS: I decided to go with a 4K (2160p) OLED after running MSFS through my Sony OLED 4K TV (which is completely impractical for my normal use). The clarity of smaller details like gauges with 2160p over 1440p is incredible. However, if you have a nice 1440p monitor, take a look at the "holy grail" videos by IslandSimPilot on YouTube.

I am jealous of all of you guys posting about your new monitors. Man, I'd like to have a new monitor, but my computer is on a big roll-top desk, and a 23-inch is the largest monitor that would fit. I don't have any other viable location for my flight sim.

I've seen a couple of upcoming VR headsets that look to be outstanding options when released. However, they promise to be pretty darn expensive. I personally don't want a VR set for a couple of reasons (neck injury for one - and a headset weighing down on my neck during extended sim sessions), but it's an option if you're desk space limited.

Many thanks that's very helpful. I'll check availability and prices here in the UK later.
