    MilViz/Blackbird C310R Updated

    From the email notification:

    Blackbird/Milviz 310R for MSFS - SP3 Release Notes
    ==================================================

    This SP3 contains new trim sensitivity sliders on the Services page of
    of the tablet as well as a new full set of interactive checklists, plus
    a number of bug fixes.

    New Features
    ------------

    - The old checklists have been replaced with a set of fully interactive ones.
    Usage should be self-explanatory as it's all standard.

    - A set of trim sensitivity sliders are now on the Services tab. They will allow
    you to adjust sensitivity of the elevator, aileron, and rudder trims from
    very fine to the left to very coarse to the right. The default will be at the
    center and corresponds roughly to the previous sensitivity. The sliders apply
    individually to each livery and will be saved for all liveries regardless
    of whether the aircraft is owned or not. (This does not affect the trim
    sensitivity when under autopilot control.)

    Bug Fixes
    ---------

    09867: Excessive nose-down trim required in cruise.
    09937: Trim button too sensitive after last update.
    09948: Cabin can't be cooled in hot weather.
    09950: Magneto failures don't always fail the mag.
    09953: Feathering and unfeathering doesn't follow the manual's procedures.
    10032: Dirt layer for baggage compartment stays in open position.
    10055: On Tablet, Right Aux (WING) slider not working.
    10113: flt files initialize A:GPS DRIVES NAV1 to incorrect value causing random problems with GNS530

    Other Fixes
    -----------

    - Better integration with 3rd party avionics such as PMS50 GTN750 and WT
    Autopilot and 530/430. Notes below.

    Notes on Avionics Configurations
    --------------------------------

    Although the avionics suite can be changed in flight, doing so can cause unpredictable interactions
    between the different 3rd party implementions and should be avoided. Once you takeoff, sticking with
    what you are using until you end the flight is the best advice.

    ## Using External Controls for GNS530:

    1. Users that map GNS530/430 to external buttons need to assign the CDI button to a script. Here are suggested scripts:

    * 1 (>H:AS530_CDI_Push, Number)
    * 1 (>H:AS430_CDI_Push, Number)

    ## Changes this update

    1. There is a GNS530 and a GNS430 available in the C310R. With this mod the units can be in unmatched CDI states - one in VLOC and one in GPS.
    2. The HSI and NAV2 CDI behavior code has been improved to use latest simvars and to provide correct indicator flags.
    3. The TO/FROM flag for HSI and CDI are correctly calculated in GPS operation when in OBS mode. HIS should agree with the CDI drawn on the 530 screen.
    4. When legacy Radio is used, the state of the hidden GPS units is ignored when calculating HSI/OBS indicators.

    ## PMS50 and TDS GTN750 mods:

    1. This update includes latest recommended variable settings to correctly allow GPS selection using EFB tablet. When either GTN750 mod is present but not selected it is disabled.
    2. The GPS selection in tablet should be made on the ground before programming GPS. Switching selected GPS in the air is not recommended.
    3. Also suggest pilot restart flight after making change to selected GPS on the C310R tablet to make sure new GPS is correctly initialized.
    4. If user wishes to use PMS50 GTN750, need to download and install pms50-instrument-gtn750 and pms50-gtn750wtt-aircraft-milviz-cessna310 mods available from pms50.com. Using pms50-instrument-gtn750 alone is not recommended as WTT mode is not available.
    5. If user wishes to use TDS GTN750Xi recommended to remove all PMS50 mods from community

    ###Supported Configuration 1:

    - Community contains: no GTN750 GPS mod package
    - C310R tablet can switch Radio <-> GNS530W

    ###Supported Configuration 2:

    - Community contains: TDS GTN750NXi package
    - C310R can switch Radio <-> GNS530W <-> TDS GTN750
    - Only switch GPS on ground before flight.

    ###Supported Configuration 3:

    - Community contains: pms50-instrument-gtn750 and pms50-gtn750wtt-aircraft-milviz-cessna310
    - see the aircraft page on pms50.com
    - the second mod places gtn750 in WT mode

    ###This Configuration is not recommended

    - pms50-instrument-gtn750 without the PMS50 WT patch
    - this is not supported because having GNS530 in WT autopilot mode is incompatible with GNT750 not also supporting WT

    Your continued support and loyalty are greatly appreciated.

    All the best,

    Steve McNitt

    Glad they put the control sensitivity sliders in as I had parked this due to control twitch.
    Now, where to find the update? No email so far.

    I bought mine direct from the source, so that's where my email came from. If you bought from another vendor, it may take a bit.

    I hate the green/brown scheme for the "custom reg" variant, so I copied the C-GTER texture folder and gave it the correct name, then opened the rear fuselage sheet in Gimp and masked over the reg. Now I have a nice scheme in blue that I can use with my preferred N721TC registration. This pic was taken somewhere between Asheville and Greensboro NC.

    I like that idea for the blue-and-white. I'll have to give it a go. There are a couple of nice "custom reg" 3rd-party liveries available, too.
