    Pete,

Were these RAF Airfields used during the B of B and/or used by the USAAF as well? I'm wanting to populate GB with a few somewhat historically accurate Bases, and these look great! I'd be proud to put these in my Sim!

Wishful thinking, but it'd be nice to have the little 'flying club' strip from the B of B film where the boys were sweating it out in the lawn chairs watching Simon try and land his Spit without putting the Gear down... taka taka taka taka taka!

Kenley and Debden were both Battle of Britain,
    Debden was later handed off (in 1942) to USAAC, 4th fighter group;
the 'flying club' location IIRC was a small corner of either White Waltham (Booker) or Hawkinge where filming was done

I might add Parham ( home of South Downs Gliding club not to be confused with similarly named base near Framlingham) which was a location used by detached flights from Croydon (Hurricanes)

    Pete,

It depends on which period. Because I already have Cees Donker's version of Debden.

There should be static P51 models on the dispersals, but so far I have never managed to make them appear. If anyone could help me with this, it would be appreciated.

    Regards,
    Huub

    Cees Donker's Debden.

Thanks Ian! Cees converted a FS98 model by Alain L’Homme into a .bgl with Trevor de Stigter's tool M98toBGL. I think there might a compatibility problem with the model.

Just had a look and the static aircraft show up fine for me, so im guessing its your scenery complexity slider in settings.

That did the trick. My scenery complexity settings were on very dense, but the static Mustangs only appear at extremely dense.

    Thanks,
    Huub

    How about RAF Bodney?

The Blue Nosed Bastards need a home in FS9.

If someone's already done it (I haven't been able to find it), please drop a link.

Trouble with Bodney is there wasn't a lot of infrastructure actually on the airfield, save for a control tower, fire engine shed and a night flying equipment store; it was built in 1939/40 possibly one of the first to use the 'dispersed camps' principle where the airfield is just that; a big flat grass area formed by removing field boundaries. All the accommodations, messes, ops rooms etc were scattered roundabout. It never gained a hard runway surface, either mat or concrete, the two type T, and blister hangars were dispersed away from the airfield, aircraft were parked on metal standings, public roads were closed off and used as perimeter track.

There's a good aerial photo here

There is a list showing all Bomber and Fighter Groups and which aircraft where based in Great Britain during WWII. However it isn't specifying certain periods. But it might be completed with some search in Wikipedia.
