Easy choice for me. Off to buy.

Life is tough. It's tougher if you're stupid.
Yeah, I still have to get it. It's nice to know a Wildcat for FS finally got the love it deserves.
Given the apparent consensus on quality the price is remarkable!
Got it!!I know what I'm going to do during the weekend!
During the week, I'll be reading the manual!

Pilot appears and disappears for me depending onmaginfication. No period Navy pilot. Also, that big engine sounds like a cessna. Was expecting more big sound for a warbird. Almost sounds like I am missing some sound files. But overall, beautifully modeled and lots of animations. -d
Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.
if you click on the seatbelt, the pilot is supposed to appear, but mine stays invisible, grrr

It's a nice plane. Definitely some excellent repaints being posted.
Both the stock paints and the repaints are a mixture of F4F-1/3/4 paints and Eastern Aircraft (General Motors) FM-2 paints. There are a lot of visual differences between the F4F and FM-2 But we all want skins representing restored FM-2 warbirds and late war CVE based FM-2s, so that's fine.
Skins representing F4Fs or Martlet I-IVs should not have exhaust stains above the wing, as there was no exhaust there.
FM-2s and Martlet Vs had an exhaust there but it was smaller than depicted on the stock skins, and most of the repaints have copied the error. There was an elliptical cavity in the fuselage behind the cowling, only about 1 cowl flap in width, and that is about as wide as the exhaust stain got. The surrounding fuselage sheetmetal was not inset or otherwise differentiated. It is left natural metal in some modern restorations but not on wartime aircraft as far as I can determine.
I'm reducing or erasing some of the exhaust stains on the skins as they come in, but it's more difficult to erase them than it is to add them!
Some forced shading to simulate the exhaust port cavity behind the cowl on the FM-2 skins might look nice.

ouch, you're completely right! I completely forgot to pay attention to that.
I've been busy all day updating my textures, the F4F-4 and early Martlet paints now no longer have stains above the wings, while the FM-2 & Martlet V paints do. I've also adjusted a few more details, so I hope you'll like them better this way.

Thank you jankees, those revisions are excellent! I like the exhaust effect on the VC-9 FM-2 especially.
