these pictures are telling a story - the Lycoming and Wasp 450 radial engines look very nice in these WiP shots - so PT-13 and the Super Stearman are 'in the pattern' apparently

Lagaffe is just doing a brilliant job on this bird. I'm awed by his skills.

    No, sorry ... It is a Lycoming R-680 (9 cyl. - 225 hp) for PT-13 models and a Continental R-670 (7 cyl. - 220 hp) for PT-17 models only.
Super Stearman is not currently for this release ...

LaGaffe is correct. Let us explain. We are adding the PT-13 to the mix. That said to explain what you are seeing. That is not the WASP. It is the Lycoming R-680-B4 was added to Artemis and again to the PT-13. Artemis was highly modified, initially delivered as a PT-17 but used the PT-13 fuselage without the exterior fire extinguisher door. In real life before it was destroyed it had the 300 h.p Lyc. R-690-13 installed. We opted to use the 220 h.p R-680 B4 with the rear mounted exhaust in order to replicate the look but not have to design a whole new FDE for the model. Below is a new livery for that version representing the PT -13 at the NASM. The Silver version, which was originally a PT- 13 will accompany it with an additional detail to the vert stab to represent the aircraft currently residing in the Netherlands.

    You and me both.

OK - I hadn't thought of the Lycoming R680-B4 radial
Very happy to learn that the Model 75 release will include these variants on initial release though - that's something new!

got it thanks, Priller - I have all of the 'vbcorp' airstrips - lagaffe is familiar with this developer.

Also I see that he has included the cafe as it was in the old days - (just as ORBX had included it) which is what I was looking for ! nice

    Hi Heywood,

With all the freeware scenery coming out, scenery wise I'm forgetting all about the legacy sims. My favourite airfields are all available for the new sim:

    • Bowerman
    • Duxford
    • Deurne (Antwerp airport. my hometown)
    • Compton-Abbas
    • Pleurtuit
    • Weeze-Niederrhein
    • Beauvechain

    Cheers,

    Priller/Jan

Lagaffe is hard at work, but here's a pic that he sent us with the latest effects on the plane. Look for exhaust flames, oh so subtle!

Yepp, Bowerman's a treat! I've been taking the Beech 18 with the latest Denarq mods for trips around there.

    Hello guys,

For this Sunday, one screen of your last repaint: a Belgium Stearman to honor our reigning test pilot.
Thanks to his advice, the flight model makes it possible to feel good at the controls of a Stearman, with its legendary loudspeaker to maneuver but which does not refuse the loopings and the barrels insofar as they are unrolled with sufficient energy and with a respectable height.
Our goal is to make a stearman as close to reality as possible to the possibilities offered by MSFS at the present moment. It will not be a toy to make cabrioles but a training plane sum it could be during the Second World War for a very large number of US pilots and in particular the Tuskegee Airmen

A wonderful model, Lagaffe ! Thanks a lot for your great work on the GAS Stearman ! Looking forward to it !

At first glance at your beautiful atmospheric screenie here i thought for a moment i was looking at a 450 HP Pratt & Whitney R-985 Wasp-Junior up there at the front. You see I worked on it for the defunct Maam-Sim N3N many moons ago. Obviously i was mistaken. Your Lycoming R680 looks pretty good too !

These guys make such soothing sounds, don't they. I thought it was great fun working on a digital radial engine. I did the original 235 HP Wright R-760-2 for the N3N too.

Thanks again Lagaffe, great job !

Testing can be fun!! And the sounds are coming along nicely I must say. And we're not even wwise yet, but she does sound nice!

    GAS Stearman Progress Update

Just FYI. The visual model and effects are practically finished and we’re tuning up the flight model. No ETA yet for that being completed but I hoping to update the forum on that point in the near future.
