    Stampe SV-4B

This was before I became a "beta pilot" for Golden Age Simulations so I had to say I never heard of this before. In 2017, GAS released their model of this beautiful little aircraft and it's still available for $9.95USD at Just Flight. Take a look at it: https://www.justflight.com/product/g...ns-stampe-sv4b

    The Supermarine Spitfire

IMO after researching, I like this free package over the paywares which say ONLY FSX because they are a few years old. Here is the link to a 54MB package by our own A.F. Scrub at
Flyaway Simulation. I know it will probably take a while to download at their slow download speed. Rikkoo has it too but theirs is only 13MB so its nowhere near as complete as the Flyaway Sim. Here is the link to it: https://flyawaysimulation.com/downlo...pitfire-mk-1a/

It is supposed to be compatible with not only FSX and FSX(SE) but also all versions of Prepar3D EVEN V5.

As usual a bit too late....

But as already mentioned there are the payware Stampe & Vertonge aircraft by Golden Age Simulations, which is a very nice package covering a lot of different models.

But there is also the freeware version by Eric Dantès, which has started his fifth life after conversion to FSX and P3Dv4 by A.F. Scrub. The model is available at the Royale French Navy site. http://royalefrenchnavy.restauravia.fr/RFN-Avions.htm

The package only covers two very similar models. The double cockpit version (with only the pilot in the rear cockpit) and a single seater. There are however many very colourful liveries in this package. Here a few examples.

For me both packages are a must!

    Cheers,
    Huub

I Can Always Count On You

I appreciate really much your input to this thread whenever I need a little help with something I missed. I do a Google Search before posting but it seems that not everything comes up like the French Navy site. I ONLY got GAS and Just Flight who sells GAS models. Hope you are having a good weekend.

    I Guess There Are Repeats

This morning I flipped the calendar to find the North American B25 Mitchell again which I reviewed back on March 10th. If you missed that go on up to page 1 for the complete post. Have a great day!

    The Douglas SBD Dauntless

I expected June 6 (yesterday) to have all kinds of tribute to "The Longest Day" D-day 1944 Invasion of France but except maybe a quick clip on the local news programs, nothing. VERY DISAPPOINTING! I remembered anyway. When I was in Publix I found a man and his wife shopping who was a Vietnam Vet and had served in both the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions. We shared a hearty handshake but then went on with our lives as do all vets who came home safe thank the Lord. As is often quoted for all our wars: All gave some...some gave ALL! There are still too many MIA's and families without closure.

Today June 7th, the SBD is featured in a 3 tone camouflage scheme in the photo. It is available for FSX in an updated version of Paul Clawson's original FS9 at Perfect Flight as a free version: https://www.fs2000.org/2017/09/16/fs...tless-updated/ and also at Simviation: https://simviation.com/1/download?fi...p&fileId=53324

For a beautiful though dated (release date 2010) payware version go to Vertigo Studios: https://vertigostudios.co.uk/sbd/ They say in their ad that it is ONLY FSX Accelerration I am guessing that it will fly in P3D at the very least V1 V2 V3. I found this post here commenting on testing Vertigo Studios in P3D V4 and V5:
https://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforu...ntless-on-fire Anyone flying the freeware in Prepar3D any versions with comments?

I searched all 6 pages of entries in our Warbirds Library and the only FSX entries are for repaints of The above Vertigo Studios SDB. All other entries are for CFS2 or CFS3 which there are pages and pages of.

    Lockheed P-38 Lightning

Turning over the calendar the "Twin Forked Devil" jumped out at me. First, freeware...
    Flightsim.com - https://www.flightsim.com/files/file...ar-the-reaper/
    Milviz Blackbird Freeware: https://blackbirdsims.com/flight/freebies.php

    In the payware arena:
First is Flightsim Developers with an excellent package for a very low price http://www.fsd-international.com/Hangar/P38/
then there is the Just Flight offer of the Aeroplane Heaven package of over 102MB https://www.justflight.com/product/p...tning-download on sale now very reasonable price.

Avsim has a whole page of P-38 and F-5 entries but they are all listed as FS2004. If you want to download one and try it in FSX or P3D V1,2,3 or even V4 they are all here:
    https://library.avsim.net/esearch.ph...ize&ScanMode=0
If anyone tries these please post your results (or failures with notes) here for others to share.

    Boeing P-26 Peashooter

This is today's entry and it sure is beautifulo IMO. Also here is a link to a very complete thread to it here on the Outhouse. Check it out. https://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforu...-26-Peashooter.

Razbam also has a payware version you can find with a Google search if you want to check IT out too.

    Have a great day today.

    Fairchild Cornell

That last few days have been repeats but today we got a new entry: The Fairchild Cornell. Fairchild entered the low-wing trainer field at just exactly the right time with its first model the MJ-62. It was purchased by the US Army in 1940. This led the way to a series of variants including the PT19, PT19A, PT23 and PT26. The PT26 which is the Simviation variant had a closed canopy for use in the cold Canadian climate. The freeware version started with FS2004 package https://simviation.com/1/download-fi...p&fileId=14989 which I hope will work in FSX as well and then the final variant that has been converted for FSX: https://simviation.com/1/download?fi...p&fileId=38911

In the payware market, At Simshack, Simmarket and JustFlight is the Flysimware package for FSX/P3D in a complete P-26 package :https://secure.simmarket.com/flysimw...-fsx-p3d.phtml for E21.72 Euros. Here is the photo from their site:

    Yesterday and today

Yesterday, the calendar highlighted the B-17G which I have reviewed before here so no entry but today it was the Auster Autocrat which has a post here from back in 2021:

And there is of course Dave Garwood's beautiful J1 Autocrat model, for which there are many repaints available.

Just do a search on Auster in the FSX section and they will all pop-up!

    A Repeat

Today June 21st highlights the P-40 warhawk again so we'll see what tomorrow brings. I have gotten over "peeking" or "reading the last page" in my growing old so you'll just have to wait with me and see. I hope it's something new and interesting like in the past. Happy First Day Of Summer here in the USA.

    Today Friday June 23rd

Junkers JU-52/3M. Check out this package for FSX and all LM P3D versions up to incl V5 at Rikoo:
https://www.rikoooo.com/downloads/viewdownload/52/963. I have not found any payware versions except for MSFS 2020 but with a package free like this don't need one. You can also find an addon effect of Falshirmjaeger (German Paratroopers) to add and jump at AVSIM. Have fun!

When you name the model, I will try to come up with the alternative.

The model at Rikoo is clearly the Junkers Ju-52 by Oliver Fischer and only the liveries are by Stephen Browning. The text might be a bit misleading.

Here in our own library at Sim-Outhouse : http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforum...SX-P3D-native)

It is a pity the conversion uses different textures names compared with the original FS2004 model. So the FS9 textures have to be renamed befor they can be used on the FSX conversion. But it is a great model so definitely worth the effort.

    Cheers,
    Huub

MZee, who makes that P-40 and where do I get the two paint jobs, especially the bare metal one?

TARPSbird, The model looks very much like the 2A2 WOP3 P40, which has been released as freeware by A2A. The P3DV4 and P3DV5 versions can be found at the ORBX site and can be installed in the typical ORBX way. The FSX version (including Accusim) can be found at the A2A Simulations site: https://a2asimulations.com/product-category/fsx/

I could be mistaking, but I think the first repaint was done by gradygappyg.

The glossy polished repaint was done by Foofighter7 and is based on the original "super shiny" textures by pilottj. Both repaints can be found here in the library. (Just do a search on the usernames in the library search option)

    Cheers,
    Huub

    Iris Classic P-40E Warhawk

Back when the 461st BG virtual was active with the Virtavia and Flightreplicas B-24 Liberators our historical advisor for the website was the son of the REAL groups commanding officer in Italy. He gave me some information on the P-40 Warhawk that his father flew with the group and I did a repaint based on the iris Classic so that everyone who wanted to share it and fly could do so for free before A2A made their P-40 freeware. If you would like the complete file and this repaint PM me. The story goes that it was "midnight requisitioned" from a P-40 squadron; hidden in one of the 461st hangers; stripped of all the camouflage paint and then marked as it shows below in the real photo inset.

    Hi @TARPSBird,

Huub is correct re the repaints.

Also please check Avsim Library and link below for more :
    https://www.nzfsim.org/tom-weiss-a2a...-archive-p-40/

Tom Weiss also did a lot of beautiful paints for the P-40, but sadly he passed away in 2020, and a lot of them are now harder to locate as his site is no longer active.

    The Last Few Days

For the last few days since the last post, the calendar has just repeated aircraft with different pictures of them so I haven't posted anything. July 3rd's entry though is the Bell P-39 Airacobra. Below is a link to a post here for one for both FSX AND P3D all versions. Check out Scrubby's beautiful work.

    After A Lot Of Repeats

This morning...Happy Independence Day to ALL Americans...the calendar hosts the NA AT-6 Texan (also SNJ and Harvard). I did the usual Google search for where can ya get it and returned:

Freeware-Rikooo and Perfect Flight of the Dave Eckert, Warwick Carter and Michael Flahault. This is NOT native FSX/P3D. Also at Flightsim.com is a repaint for the Warwick Carter AT-6 that won the Judges Choice award at Oshkosh in 2008 depicting the "Checkertail Clan" 325th FG Mustangs. You can also find other repaints if you look.

Payware - A2A Simulations with Accusim both at their site as well as Just Flight Store.

I have been up close and personal to an AT-6 Texan a few years ago. A pilot here in North Carolina has his in a hanger at the Cape Fear Jetport and he gives Eagle Flights to budding young pilots. I was disappointed that I was too old to snag one. Boooo Hoooo! but one of my students that I had taken out to our annual tour of the flight school did and talked about it for weeks. I didn't realize how large an aircraft this is next to the 172 Skyhawks parked on the grass there when he passed by on the taxiway.

Also a nice SNJ package at Simviation complete including the aircraft: https://simviation.com/1/search?subm...ds=AT6&x=0&y=0

There is of course also the Alphasim/Virtavia FSX Harvard/Texan. It is actually a port over and not FSX native (It least the "FSX" version I have), but works without any issues.

Here with a some odd real life liveries, I did for this model

And the T6-G by David Eckert, Michael Flahault and Warwick Carter is actually fully FSX native! It has a separate model file for the external model and a separate internal model file!

You have to install the basis file FSDS_T-6.ZIP, which can be found here: https://www.flightsim.com/files/file...sx-t-6g-texan/ (You should be logged in at Flightsim.com)

After this you have to install the update FSDS_T-6UPDATE.ZIP, which can be found here: https://www.flightsim.com/files/file...n-restoration/

And after that you have to install the mod t6texmod.zip, which can be found here: https://www.flightsim.com/files/file...-modification/

If you want you can find alternative flight dynamics by John "Bomber_12th" in the library here: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforum...t-Dynamics-zip

And when you have these in stalled you can start to download the many beautiful repaints made for this model. John Terrell did a huge amount and made his better than brilliant paintkit available, which allowed the less talented to so some repaints as well!

A few examples of the amazing repaints done by John "Bomber_12th" Terrell:

And the ones I did based on John's excellent paintkit:

    Cheers,
    Huub
