Just got the textures from John, thought I share the pit.... need to fiddle with a few errors and little stuff, soon I think.

Wow, really nice, quite the update!
Thanks NachtPiloten Ted
Very impressive. Looks better than many other 'pits
Cato said "Carthaginem esse delendam"
I say "Carthago iam diu deleta, sed enim Bellum Alium adhuc aedificandum est"
That’s a lot of work, well done!

Wowser!! Great work as always Ted and John!!
One teeny question, were the RAF using Phillips screws in that period, I thought they were all slotted?

I just wish we were able to have more gauges. There are several that just could not get to work. But at least they look nice.
Invented by an American Henry F Phillips in 1936 as far as I can make out, certainly used on US aircraft, not so much RAF, so yea probably not correct Clive, especially for the earlier types.
Having said that I have seen a cross slotted screw used on RAF aircraft, not Phillips, but could easily be mistaken for them?

I had an elderly client a few jobs back who was convinced Phillips head screws were a communist plot to reduce efficiency.
Whitley looks great Ted! Which variants will we see?
LOL, old film noir line, I think it was James Cagney in White Heat, never mind the triva, all the screws are 3d so as I mess around with little issues, I think I can manage to fix that oversight from this side of the pond. As far as versions, mkv and I might ask John for a couple Coastal Command skins (really love attacking convoys and sinking subs).
Yea no prob on the coastal command version!

"all the screws are 3d"
Heck that is dedication and attention to detail Ted! Sorry to cause a little extra work 🫣
From what I've read, Phillips screws were invented for automation and power tools which were difficult to centralise in a slot. Too easy to slip out and damage the work piece.
Very much looking forward to this one.

That is great work, you guys! That pit looks pretty convincing!!
Hear, hear!!
One question though concerning the instrument glass: Is your glass still transparent at night? If so, do you care to share your gmax settings? Mine is reflective during the day, but at night it seems to become opaque
