    VPA Rafales revisited

    Hi Folks,

2023 shall see some WIP beeing finished I hope.
Here is a long term project I have been working on and off. VPA Rafale is stunning, it took me some time to realize how accurate the model was. texture mapping is one of the most complex I have been ever dealing with.
The Rafale is my definite eurocanard favorite of all time !

    Some shots :

Rafale B wip shots coming soon !

    Cheers

A gorgeous looking model already getting the l'iguane treatment, I'm not sure whether that is a late Xmas 2022 gift or an early 2023.

This may be a dumb question and if it is, forgive me, but I've not been able to find anyway of downloading this since I saw it on Frank Safranek's invaluable Mirage4fs site. All the download links on the VPA Forum are dead, even the Web Archive proved fruitless. Is there a link I've not seen or is this a "If you didn't get it then, tough" kinda thing?

It seems to be Cyril Pioffet's rafale A model as far as I can see. Nothing to do with VPA models.

Really nice work, but is the VPA Rafale still available somewhere?

    Hi Huub,

I don't think it is available anywhere now. I have had this Rafale from the time it was released by VPA.
Maybe Franck Safranek from mirage4fs would know more of on this subject ?

    Cheers

Is this the Rafael that comes up as NEWRAFAEL in the aircraft list and has 4 variants I think?

    L'iguane,
I'm only replying because it seems like I'm the only one who can summon The Safranek.
Even when the subject is the Mirage family.

Any plans on uploading any repaints of the X-35/F-35?

Was the VPA Rafale freeware when it was available? If it's allowed by the plane's creators maybe it can be hosted here in the downloads section.

Sorry for not chiming in earlier. I just happened to wander by and spotted this.
To be honest since I went back to work I haven't had much time for flightsim in nearly a year now.
But seeing these in-progress screen shots is waking me up.

Somewhere I have the original packages that VPA gave me permission to distribute as their own download website was having issues.
They even sent me their Rafale M version that was never released.
If L'iguane is interested in maybe doing a couple Marine repaints I'll dig them up.

This would actually be a good excuse to put the whole set online.
But then I run into the possibility of someone changing a couple gauges, repackaging the whole thing, and uploading it elsewhere.
And that is specifically against the wishes of VPA. That's probably why I never bothered to make them available.

Frank, if you made the VPA Rafales available online I would suggest in the readme file(s) you place a restriction on the aircraft being uploaded elsewhere, or modified in any way except for repaints. Then you would have recourse to complain to any website that hosts unauthorized uploads.

    Hello,

Can we hope for a release from you, Franck?
This will allow this forgotten device to be revived!

For MAV, can we have a cockpit screen?
