A member request that will take some time. A lot of hangars and buildings and very little reference material. If anyone knows where I can find actual images from ground level, I would appreciate it.

In setting up the AFCAD I noticed that the default airports runway was actually 1300' shorter than it should be. Something I normally don't run into to, but it's been corrected.

The runway was extended two summers ago. All the added length was on the north end to allow some jet traffic there.

I live about 3 miles off the end of runway 1 so I'll grab some photos as soon as I can this week. I'll be working south tomorrow but should be back working the Middlebury area Wednesday.

One of the cooler aircraft based at Middlebury is a Fouga Magister in a Patrouille de France paint scheme.

Yea I thought that's what I was seeing on the aerial photos. I can probably come up with something for that I imagine. As for the photos, that would be great. . .as many as you can get. I still have work to do on the ramp and runway markings as well as placing the autogen so plenty of time.

Got some rather crappy photos with my cell this afternoon. Weather is practically IFR minimums to even drive so they are slightly hazy. currently syncing them from my phone to the pc. as soon as I get them uploaded I'll get something posted.

Not my shot but stolen from my buddy Bill Hamph's facebook page. Bill owns Green Mtn. Avionics and shows the ramp in front of his hangar. these are the the three furthest south hangars

    Runway 1 looking north

    Taxiway looking South at MIdd.

Bill's FB page if you want to see some cool panel work. https://www.facebook.com/greenmountainavionics

My shots... Weather was crud and messed some of the longer one's focus on my phone...

Gate preventing access to the three southern hangars (Green Mtn Avionics)

    Same spot, facing the runway

A few steps north looking NE

I was a bit rushed so I inadvertently skipped the parking lot at J&M Aviation services This is the back of the "BIG" hangar which is the paint shop. Large enough to paint a PA-42 Cheyenne no problem.

Next few shots are the aircraft junkyard/parts supply and the next hangar.

more of the aircraft in for paint/restoration. Note the wingless Sea-Bee.

    No zoom shot

    More shots

The "Blue" hangar... I'll get more shots today if I can

Looking south towards the main ramp and the fueling area

Looking a little more to the left. Since the new runway expansion the airport has all new fencing and much tighter access to airside.

I'll try to get more shots today.

Great, Thanks Brian. A shame you can't get flightline access, fronts would be ideal but I appreciate anything you're able to get.

photo dump time... more shots for Ed. Weather was a bit nicer today.

    More of the "Blue" hangar

the 2 North main line hangars

    more junkyard

Yes, there is a mannequin in the pilot's seat on the Champ...

As much as I can get of the J&M paint hangar. I think a google image search will get more

Picnic table shelter next to J&M

The reason I don't have any airside shots...

    another J&M

south of J&M on the fence line

Hangar south two south of J&M. Small fuel truck is the JET-A source. 100LL is at the 24 hour fuel pump over by the big parking ramp

the three perpendicular hangars moving south. the last crappy looking white one is full of junk including a couple of Jersey barriers

    another angle on J&M

the silver round top north of J&M's junkyard. The wood frame is for the sliding doors like on the blue hangar

J&M's Facbook page which has some photos of aircraft that shows some more of the air side in a few shots if in the background. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100069327744648

Brian, my thanks for taking the time to get these pics. Far more than I had to begin with and so now begins the job of putting up walls, doors, windows and bringing the airport to life. Thank you Sir!

Found a Facebook page for 6B0 with some nice photos and some videos... https://www.facebook.com/MiddAirport6B0

Found a linked pic of the silver round top hangar that shows the attached office better

Maybe we should call that hangar the "Crypt" since it used to house a Vampire....

Wow, what an interesting bunch of photos. A lot of cool aircraft there AND a lot of junkers too. Waiting for restoration or what!

    Holy Crudbuckets..... WOW! Looks awesome.

On green Mtn Avionics, this is a close up of the man door next to the small overhead door next to the hangar door. Bill is a former Marine, hence the marine parking sign.

Thanks for that last pic Brian. From a distance I had assumed the hangars were red corrugated metal. . . .obviously not the case. Good to know as they are next to be built.

A few more pics of the J&M Hangar. . .about time to move to the next ones.

The two Green Mtn Avionics hangars are sheathed in plywood and strapping and stained red. The bifold doors are white corrugated metal.

    Sketchup Textures

    Ed,

In "Sketchup Textures" you can get free downloads of damaged or patched concrete that you can add and then create the areas like they appear in the real photos. I have in the past also added them to the gp textures in ADEx and used them. Sometimes they work better in Sketchup though.
