Is there any specialist in this forum being able to do this?
Agree. A 3 does not sound like this. They are very loud and you know you have two radials right outside those windows.

Interesting comment considering the sounds were specially recorded in a dedicated sound session with a real DC-3 from cold dark right through to engine runs in and out of the hangar. Courtesy of the Dutch Dakota Association. I'll pass your comments on.

I flew in the DDA DC3 some years ago. The sound is right, the level is perfect! What struck me is the tiny cockpit.

I think the sounds are the best part about the -3. I crank them up with the sub and I would rattle the windows except I dont want to wake the kids and wife haha. Nice work.

The internal sounds are nice but as with all AH aircraft the soundai package is lacking and doesn't sound like the real aircraft at all in multiplayer or when using flyby/drone view.

    That's a bit harsh, no?

I felt like it was pretty light criticism, personally. What was harsh about my comments? I didn't make any personal attacks or go out of my way to bring up something negative for the sake of it, I saw the discussion about the sounds and expressed my disappointment with a minor detail I have with the exterior sounds in AH's models while also mentioning what I did like about them.

The sound pack in the DC-3 was recorded and produced by one of the best in the business. The studio has done work for all your "favourite" developers, much of which has garnered massive praise on these pages. They are so busy, we cannot commission on the next project we have until forst quarter, next year. To engineer a WWise soundpack for MSFS is a) very, very expensive and b) requires much skill. It would be impossible to compare this with our usual soundsets as this is the first time we have used this company. There are very, very few commercial, professional sound studios operating with WWise for MSFS. We use both the ones we know of.

Look, I don't actually care very much but if you want play around putting other soundsets in go right ahead.

However, if you try anything that was in an FSX or P3D addon, you will be very disappointed with the results. The sound production process is completely different (legacy) and will not sound correct, whatever yo do.

question for Painters, yesterday i test my paint in MP,my Friend have it installed.
close we see both the liveries, but if you move away from the other, some textures show pink,is it my paint or a error from plane, maybee LOD?
If you didn't generate MIPs when you exported the files, try that.

I am very much a systems type of MSFS user who usually turns towards A2A or PMDG for aircraft I intend to use a lot. But with this one I am quite happy. Maybe some things aren't as deeply simulated but the cockpit interactions are done well and I also liked the sound so far, quite a lot actually in the cockpit. I need to do some longer flights with it and get familiarized but I am happy with this one and glad we got it for for free!

So a big thank you to MS / Asabo and Aeroplane Heaven for this one!

At 2000 feet, 30 MAP, 2200 RPM (my fav DC-3 flight config), for the internal concert for two P&W R-1850 Twin Wasps as presented by Aeroplane Heaven in MSFS today i'd give a big ol' 8. For the external variant easily a 9. Just about as a DC-3 should sound, both internal and external, soothing and mesmerizing, relaxing and magnetizing. (no 10 because there's always room for improvement)

Start-up/Shut down sound/event i think is reasonable, idle could be a bit more impressive, power up from idle to full power i'd rather call that fantastic !! Big ol' 10 afterall, especially external !

Long ago i messed about with that Drone camera thing to try and setup a Fly-By sequence (what an excruciating afair ! ) and when it worked i found the fly-by sounds ( a few jets and a few props ) absolutely amazing. I can't wait to find out how the DC-3 sounds in Fly-By mode. Not looking for to go through that Drone fly-by setup hassle again so i'll wait until Microsobo is pleased to give us a proper one click Fly-By view.

Generally i think that Aeroplane Heaven has done quite a wonderful job on its DC-3 soundsuite as well as the internal and external models. When it comes to that, IMHO the flightmodel could do with some more soothing and mesmerizing.

Well done Baz and friends ! Thank you very much for giving us our beloved Dakota back !

Dear pilot friends, I agree that AH has done a very good job with this DC3, as an aviation jewel it could not be missing from our simulator and we must thank Asobo for being a free plane, that means within everyone's reach, Personally, I expected a greater depth of systems, basically I know that it is a free plane and as such it is very well done, but I expected something more, perhaps because I have spent many many hours with Manfred Jahn's DC3, I got used to those old clocks, that Sperry Inop, and that elaborate cockpit, something that no one has managed to replicate yet, yes, we have a good DC3 in MFS2020, but personally I think it still has a long way to go to resemble P3D's DC3, from here a acknowledgment of Manfred's work that set the bar very, very high, and for the moment there it is.................. up

    Good Evening!

And help, i can't fly anymore and I'm going to become a flusipainter instead.

I decided to paint this awesome DC-3 called Duggy. And I had a lot of fun painting them true to the original. Well, the Duggy is actually something for children, but also for really big children.

And if you're interested in Duggy's short story, here it is: Duggy was built in September 1942 as the C-47. She went to Australia and served in the Pacific Wing of Air Transport Command until the end of the war when she was sold to Wien Air Alaska in December 1946 as a war surplus. In February 1950 the aircraft was purchased by the Canadian Department of Transportation and registered CF-DOT. It remained with the Canadian DOT until Harry Thompson and Robert Odegaard bought it and restored it to the original North Dakota Air Guard C-47 colors in 1998 and registered it as the N1XP. In 2004 it was renovated by SkyHarbour in Canada, christened the Duggy and painted. Sporting bright yellow livery and a smiley face, Duggy draws the attention of youth, curious adults and older veterans who have either flown or crewed a C-47.

“Schools have aviation programs for middle school students and older kids, but how do you get the younger kids involved? Let's call them prejuvenile eagles," Kaplan said.“How do you get them excited about aviation? With Duggy and his flying cartoon friends of course.”

I will be uploaded to Flightsim.to tomorrow.

Now I wish you a nice Saturday evening. Christian (Pirosch)

    Great Yellow,
It would be nice if the tyres were matt

    Looking good Christian!

Also started looking around for possible liveries. I think there are tons of possibilities. I'd really enjoy a paintkit, though, to get the details, panel lines and AO right.

I grew up down the road from Sky Harbour Aircraft Refinishing and remember when they painted Duggy. Really miss the flow of warbirds to my local airport since the paint shop closed. Airport is CYGD for anyone looking to pick-up a freshly painted Duggy and head to Oshkosh!

I really like seeing the excellent repaint of Duggy! I'm looking forward to it, Christian. I got to see it the first year it debuted in that paint scheme at Oshkosh.

Duggy looks awesome, Christian ! Well done !

About the "The Smile in the Sky !" , didn't you miss the exclamation mark ?... You've got the font almost right but maybe you'd like to try Times New Roman in Italics with extra space between the words and possibly Bolt ?... (comes very close )

Here's an almost straight to the lens photo of Duggy:

If your paint proggy can handle it you might wanna copy the line of text from the photo and paste it onto the texture ?... (just thinking out loud..;-)
(also check out the bottom of the 'y' in 'Sky' just about thouching the top of the first cabin window..)

    Cheers,
    Jan

    Hello Javis

So now everything is fixed: The wheel is now mate. @Javis: Many thanks for the tips and hints. I have now reworked it a bit in the original font from the photo and font, so that it doesn't fray too much and copied and used. I think I'll leave it because I like it a lot and it's close to the original.....

And as I wrote here before. I don't work with Blender so it's very old school like FSX and P3D. But I am now fully learning with Blender.

I would also like to thank everyone for their positive comments.

    Here the result:

    Have nice Sunday...
