All new regulations, and some new colours! So far I'm really liking these cars. Red Bull have only shown their livery on an FIA model, so no photos of their car yet.

Can't see any picture. Looks like imgur is down, again...

The cars look way better without extra bits on them.

Whether it will improve the ability to follow another car with less issues, only the start of the season will we know.

    Hey All,

I have to confess I am quite taken by the New Ferrari F1 entry. Really like the deep red with the black. Looks like a lot of out of the box thinking has gone into this car. I always appreciate out of the box thinking. Here is a video of what may be going on with the car aero. Of course it is this aero specialist best guess and as he points out - the plus points of this car may or may not move it to the fore in F1. I'm hoping it does as I do like Ferrari but we shall see. This aero specialist does discuss - in the same way- the other new F1 entries on his utube channel. And who knows what is going on with the PU - hopefully 7 other teams don't gang up on Ferrari again as they did with the legal 2019/2020 Ferrari engine.

Now to see the RedBull entry.

Today the Red Bull RB18 also broke cover, and it is probably the most extreme design of this season, especially in the sidepod area.

    Hey All,

I don't know what happened to my post...

Anyway Ferry I hate to disagree but I think the most extreme award goes to Ferrari...

Here is the Ferrari and McLaren side by side...

And here is some analysis. Not sure how good it is or if the car will actually perform but it is fun to speculate...

Same here. I long for the days when a "blocky shaped" light blue meant Matra, a wedge meant Lotus 72 and a teardrop nose with a "tea table" on top meant a March 711. Today, at a quick glance, they all look like the same car put through photoshop....

The red Bull looks like it fell out of the Ugly Tree hitting every branch on the way down!
Those so-called 'Aerodynamicists' should be shot with ball of their own fecal matter.
At least FIAT have kept a semblance of an open wheel race car with Ferrari.

Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder I'm sure when it is fast nobody will care how it looks. Most cars which looked stunning when I was young, look old fashioned now

A little bouncy for the Ferrari!

    https://twitter.com/F1/status/149688...n_2022_-_Day_2

But by the sounds of it must of the cars have the same issue to some extent.

Difficult to say! After so many years of despair with ugly cars I really enjoy what this new regulation has brought. On top of that the liveries are really nice.

Nico Hulkenberg is set to make another Formula 1 cameo after being called up for this weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix.

The German will replace countryman Sebastian Vettel at Aston Martin after the four-time world champion tested positive for COVID-19.

A short statement confirmed that Hulkenberg, the team’s reserve driver, will step into the car in Vettel’s place.

“Sebastian Vettel has tested positive for Covid-19 and will not therefore be taking part in the 2022 Bahrain Grand Prix,” the team announced.
“Replacing him in the AMR22 will be Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula 1 Team reserve driver Nico Hulkenberg, who will be in the car from FP1 onwards.”

Tomorrow’s opening practice session will be the 34-year-old’s first experience in a 2022-spec F1 machine.

Vettel and team-mate Lance Stroll completed all six days of pre-season testing, with Hulkenberg not getting an opportunity behind the wheel.

However, as the squad’s reserve driver, he will be well versed in the team’s processes and systems.

One would think that a 'reserve driver' should get some pre-season in car miles up for this sort of occasion.
