Hoping the next fixes will fix these problems....

MSFS lockup and self corruption loading flights from locations foreign to USA.

Terrain elevations that correct Yosemite, Crazy Horse, Mt Rushmore and other POIs, airport building vertical separations.

Correct whatever causes Marketplace KDCA to loose its inside USA flag, people and counters.

Correct whatever causes ORBX London addon's London Eye to fail to rotate.

Start up POI that corrects the plane to leap to over 50,000 feet over Devils' tower.

    Your own problems.

Third party addon issues are up to the third party dev's to fix. As for their own, they haven't said much about specific fixes that I've seen.

The ORBX London Eye rotates far to fast IMO, when you see it IRL you have to stand and watch it for a few seconds before you even notice that it is actually rotating.

The London Eye rotation speed animation is probably the same as the wind turbine rotation speed animation - the stronger the wind, the faster the rotation.

Aren't there more pressing problems than the above?

Generally speaking though, this is the best sim that M$ ever came up with.

    Thanks for your comments.

Yes it is the best sim, I totally agree.

These problems are mainly my own, especially the first which has caused me to have 2 hour reinstalls as often as twice a day for several days trying to fly in places in the world updates 1,3,4 and 5.
So I am probably blinded to the bigger problems that the developers have trying to keep up with changes.

    Regards, Jim

Allow me to add something: in stark contrast to previous M$ sims: this sim is constantly being updated. Development continues and M$/Asobo are listening to the community. Now that is a first, isn't it?

And in contrast to Prepar3D (my previous sim of choice), updates are far less painful. On the condition that your windows and your drivers are up to date, and that you follow the instructions, as in empty your community folder.

I never thought that I would be defending M$ like I'm doing...

Priller, thanks for your helpful comments.

I have used the MS/ASOBE, much appreciated, help to remove the ERROR 3 for World Update 1 that corrected a mysterious loss of my entitlements.

My reinstalls used MS's preferred procedure to Reset MSFS. At this point the folder .....Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe, and any subfolders, including the community folder are deleted. The reinstalls followed.

Perhaps my drivers are at fault. But they allow the reinstall, allow the sim to fly in the USA, and worked everywhere prior to SU5.

I simply hope my main problem gets fixed next time around or later.

    Regards, Jim

The more I hear about these problems, the more I think it has to do with the M$ Store. I mean, most users using MSFS through Steam do not have this problem. Of course, this does not solve your problems Jim, and I do hope that you get them sorted soon.

The only things I can say that could be remotely useful are:

    - make sure your windows is completely up to date
    - update the M$ store as well
    - log out of the M$ store, reboot and log in again
    - Install your MSFS in another location. Steam offers this possibility, I imagine that M$ does the same

    Good luck mate!!

I'm getting to the point of trying a re-install. I've been partially successful at getting some usefulness from MSFS, but am still having CTDs on a regular basis. Very frustrated that the Asobo team released an absolutely flawed update.

My pet list of things I hope the next update corrects:

    RECENT ISSUES (started since SU5):
    - Elevator trim axis broken (works on some planes, not on others, reversed on still others)
    - Loss of airport history in World Map
    - Hangs/crashes (mine occur when loading a flight under certain conditions)

    OLD ISSUES
    - Wild swing on takeoff
    - Navigation and autopilot bugs
    - Uncontrolled nose-shove-down under certain conditions
    - Bizarre ATC behavior and incorrect protocol

Is it the best MS-based flight sim yet? No, viewed strictly as a flight sim, it is not yet even as good as FS2004, because of the flight model, navigation, and autopilot issues. It's coming along, though, and sure looks pretty.

I bought mine through the Store and the only issue I have is occasional download/decompress loops. Luckily though, SU5 went though in one (slow) shot.

unable to fly under golden gate bridge.

Unable to use more than four engines and six propellers.

unable to use landing gear in gear up mode ( it disappears ) (This last was a common design technique back in the 1930s when retracted gear were still able to add some stability to a belly landing.. )
