    RAF Lakenheath for MSFS

A highly detailed scenery of RAF Lakenheath was released today by Ian McCartny, who also did the brilliant RAF Coningsby scenery. It is available here: https://flightsim.to/file/11277/egul-raf-lakenheath

Lakenheath is home to the USAF 48th Fighter Wing, operating F-15 Eagles.

When installing this scenery, make sure you delete the previously-released Lakenheath scenery (by a different developer) if you have had it installed.

Incredible work from Ian! Like Coningsby awesome detailed airbase.

Not his fault but boringly empty unfortunately.
    Best regards, Manfred.

Even includes the spotters car park.

As a 'local' it looks very realistic to me.

Hope he does it's sister base Mildenhall next now that it's not closing

Beautiful military add on! Thanks so much for sharing.

We so badly need some military AI to fill those empty ramp spaces. I'll go wander over to MAIW to cruise their forums to see if their current stuff can be ported over. Finally glad to see some love coming to military airfields globally.

    Great scenery

Wonderful scenery! And a chance to use Jankees' and Marine1's Lakenheath paints, and as well as the cool D-day memorial paints.

There is a slight difference in ground level What is causing this anomaly?

Zsolt, I'm not sure if it might be related, but do you have the United Kingdom (World Update III) scenery installed? If not, it is available for free from Microsoft in the in-game Marketplace (as well as Japan (World Update I) and United States (World Update II)). Not sure if by not having it that it would cause those elevation problems.

Amazing scenery! Very appreciate the level of details, thanks a lot, Ian!

I've not added scenery from anywhere before with MSFS, only aircraft that go in the community folder. When I place EGUL in my community folder MSFS says 'checking for updates' continually.

Have I got this wrong? Do addon scenery packages go somewhere else?!!

No, that's the right place and where I put it this morning and it all worked fine.
As I remember there is an EGUL folder inside the zip and that's what I copied across.

    Cheers

    Thanks for confirming.

Hopefully I can get a pointer over at the MSFS Bugs forum that will fix this

Make sure you have uninstalled the previous Lakenheath scenery - if you had it of course

As with Coningsby, the RAF Lakenheath scenery has been updated and is now populated with F-15s, depicting all three squadrons at the airbase: https://flightsim.to/file/11277/egul-raf-lakenheath

There is no problem with the scenery, including in that location, on my end. This is running stock MSFS 2020 with World Update III (UK) installed.
