I like that one. Reminds me of the F-100's stationed at Djibouti.
I've seen it on a model kit box art but haven't been able to find a real photo.
Real or not it is still a great looking scheme.

líguane, it seems you missed the "Savoie" unit marking at the tail.

No problem, I often like to search for the unfindable . According to the text at the site where I found the last images, the aircraft is the Mirage F.1CR 33-NR No.603 from ER2/33 (which is obvious), normally based at Reims AB (BA112). The aircraft was involved in Operation Épervier in the Chadian-Lybian conflict 1987-1988. In which France supported it former colony.

And thank you l'iguane for another beautiful repaint!

    Cheers,
    Huub

Not bad for a 16 years old sim. As nice model, a talented repainter and some alternative ground textures and sky textures and it "almost" looks like MSFS

    A mirage with bite

L'Iguane, thank you so much for your recent beautiful paints of Kirk Olsson's great Mirage F.1. They inspired me to get to grips with this a/c. The Shark nose is so effective on this stilletto nosed aircraft. A true warplane that has always been as aggressive and effective in combat as it looks. Thought it deserved a haiku of its own:

    Non saw it coming
Flashing through the bright blue light
    A nightmare's mirage

Looking forward to your French Air Force paint in NATO colours.
Happy New Year to you and thanks again.

    Mal

Any chance you'll officially release your 118-CF repaint "100 ans de reconnaissance" ?

I found the MSFS version at the French Air Force website, somewhat converted it to DDS/FSX, but not sure if it's yours, or legit...

It already looks nice though! I'm not the only one hoping to fly it... Thanks!

    Vonstroheim,

It's not a release of mine.
I remember I shared the "sort of" paintkit I did with a folk here, RichardLouie. I believe my layers included this work in progress livery. It seems he released it unfinished.

As you can see on the top of the wing, there is a chicken (cocotte, emblem of this recce squadron) which is partly on the wing, partly on the dorsal. Mapping and distortion made it very difficult to properly paint and display. I moved then to other projects and let it pending.

I'll see what I can do

    Best

I know I ask this a lot, what ground textures are you using and what does the urban textures look like?

You might try this one: https://www.kiwiflightsim.com/westerneurope-other I haven't yet, been in hospital for a couple month.

Some of the issues on the image (slats, with top spoilers might be caused from using the wrong paint kit on the wrong model, or vise versa.

    Sorry Sean,

I had completely missed your question. As I already mentioned before, I have played so much with my ground textures that I can't really answer your question.

In this case I know I've been cheating a bit. The F-1s actually don't fly over Northern Africa, but over the Australian desert, simply because I like the ground textures much better. The ground textures are either then ones from VOZ1.8, or the ones referred to in the movie in this thread: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforum...nearly-perfect

    Cheers,
    Huub

I'm really sorry to hear about your health issues Frank. I hope it is going better now and otherwise I wish you a speedy (and full) recovery.

The Kiwi repaint comes really close but still doesn't fully fit......

    Cheers,
    Huub
