First flight - KMLI - KSBN in FS9 RW flying the F7F-300 by whats his name
First flight okay so far; tailwind kickin' it

Crashed a great aircraft! Distracted by Cat jumping on desk, then wife setting dinner on desk as I was fast descending to airport.
An apparent irreconcilable difference between the aircraft and terra firma.
Well, for some reason, my attachments are not showing here.
I'll post to .net and use links that way.

Ya, that was weird, Duenna created the folder by date as it always did, but only placed the log in it, the other two files were in the documents/duenna root folder. I changed the destination folder to output, we'll see if put's it in the date folder it creates for the log.

Isn't it uncanny how kitties and wives always manage to interrupt your concentration on approach? Usually on short final.Crashed a great aircraft! Distracted by Cat jumping on desk, then wife setting dinner on desk as I was fast descending to airport.
It's like they almost have an instinct, or psychic ability. Daddy's on final, quick, require his attention!
I understand kitties. After all, they are psychic about evil anyway. We have 3, I know how they are...
Oh well, have fun anyhow!

Ok, ok, you tempted me. I can't resist...
I have the baton at KMLI to KBKL in that F7F-3 y'all keep talking about. FSRealWX.
Looks like the view on landing ought to be very nice. Right on the lake. Who could ask for more?
Not counting the snow showers I get to launch in. FUN!

Beautiful flight, once I got above the clouds, anyway.
I was right, too, lovely views on approach!

I wasn't sure where to put this, but I wanted to give all my wonderful Team-mates a HU:
I fell today and broke my kneecap (the patella) clean in two. Hurts like an SOB, won't bear any weight. I don't know, but I have a sick feeling I'll have to go in for surgery, either replace the entire patellar bone, or repair it. This also means the wonderful joy of rehab. Needless to say, if I'm n rehab, or something, no flights for me.
Really bums me out, as I wanted to get in at least ONE flight during the last Race, but don't count on me. I have the sick feeling they're going to carve me like a Thanksgiving turkey, but am hoping not. The ER just sent me home without admitting me after the DR assigned when I went in consulted the Ortho Surgeon, so maybe....
Here's hoping, anyway. I've been cut on enough for several lifetimes!
Anywho. I'll try to keep up on the forum here, and if it's at possible, get in on a flight or two, even if it's just as "another" pilot. Not a wingman, just an addon. I'm currently parked firmly in my easy chair, that I fly from, so maybe.
I just wanted to let y'all know not to rely on my being available for a while. At least till I learn to walk, again...

Ouch, that sounds painful Pat, sorry to hear that. All the best for a swift recovery! Take care.

It got horribly foggy on approach. Thankfully with full flaps the F-80 can fly at 135 knots, while I desperately search for sight of the airstrip while at treetop level. Used all the runway!

I echo Martin's sentiment. That DOES sound painful! Here's hoping that all goes well, that the docs can be minimally invasive, and that you will come out of this maximally recovered. Here's to a speedy recovery.
Our best to you and Wendy

We might want to check the permissions for everybody on the Team over on the .net side. I discovered that I could not start a thread ---or--- post any replies! Very frustrating! If this was an actual Race situation, this could have cost the Team a good fifteen or twenty minutes! Let's make sure we have everything in order.
Just bringing it to everyone's attention,
Frank
