The variometer sound is setup in the aircraft's sound folder
you need to add something like this to the sound.cfg (make sure the required sounds are in there as well)

No the 3d models are passed through a totally different compiler..If you had the source files then it would be a simple matter of reanimating the controls ect then compile them with the fsx game...

Are you running in auto pitch or manual? as the gauge I did for auto pitch control was AFAIK never properly calibrated, the figure in there were just ball parkish
