"The file library is our biggest concern. We need a team of volunteers to help migrate to the new server just like we did over some 10 years ago. I would hope we could get volunteers from each of our forum sections. The key thing about the resource section on the new software is it is almost just like creating a forum post. I rather like the look of it." So we have to manual download and reupload the whole Library?

Did anyone convert this to an FSX model? Would like to fly it in P3D. If not, I will give it a try.

There’s a sticky thread above on modelling to cross-sections which explains the process, although I’ll just highlight that it’s a bit above beginner level. You’re also trying to create the whole fuselage in one go, but I strongly recommend doing it one side first, then using a mirror modifier to make the other side. That way the fuselage ends up symmetrical. There’s lots to learn, but lots of tutorials too.

Using lines, arcs, and shape I created very close replicas of the bulkheads of my 3 view. I reordered the vertices so the numbering is in the same direction. Each bulk head has different numbers of points so my cross section looks crazy. Clearly I need to simplify the number of vertices or something... how do I do that?

I would like to drop in my own RCAF silver leaf roundel instead, mine is made with love. I would like to try and do something about the hawk banner. The beak and head, are too wide which causes the taper to be thick. If you get the taper right, the top white line should run even with the top of the spoiler door frame. In the images, you can see the comparisons between the model, and real photos. I would change the font to the correct stenciled font, resize correctly, and line up the letters in a straight line, if possible. After that, correct the proportions of the tail markings, add a nice white letter stencil on the side of the antiglare perhaps, and tweak the COMP for more gloss, and chrome on the leading edge of the wings. It's a good model, I do love it. Bugger to land,...

Hello Dimus, Quick question, the paintkit has been out for almost a week and I have only seen one or two repaints from all the skilled painters out there, and I was wondering why? Maybe I don't know where to look? Do you know where I can find new repaints of this awesome F-86? I am trying to learn how to use the released paintkit, but it's a steep learning curve. I did figure out how to make the radar nose black on aircraft 165, but that's about it. I uploaded the file to flightsim.to Thanks, Ed

Just out of curiosity, what did you wish to correct in the Golden Hawks livery? This is how it looks after the patch:

There are warps in the mesh caused by non-uniform polygons running down both sides of the fuselage making straight lines and lettering impossible. I just spent hours trying to correct with transform tools, and could not. I had to give up on correcting the errors in the Golden Hawks livery. I've sent a pm and requested they look into this. We'll see. :banghead: Edit: Oh my...this is bad. I don't think I'll be doing any liveries for this one. I ran into this problem when I made a Gmax model years ago. Milton Shupe straightened me out. This is caused by shaping the fuselage by hand, one node at a time. Yikes! Guess I'll just enjoy it for what it is.
