I'm looking for ways to improve/change the city textures and came across this interesting thread yesterday. https://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php/128159-New-Landclasses-xml?highlight=landclasses I did a rough texture rework of Pat's largecitytrees01 texture and decided to do some work on the 031summer3 textures. I traced what I could of the roads mask texture which was not much and poor quality. I created a texture to be viewed in-game and took screenies. The house positions assisted in placing quite a few extra roads where I thought they might work. The result is a bit unrefined but a good start I think. A rough wip texture rework of the largecities texture. Adding roads to the 031summer3 roads traced texture with the help of a screenshot. This is obviously...

I've been in the new apartment for a little over 2 weeks now but getting back to Flight Sim has been a low priority til now. I have found another airport to work on and it should be fairly easy to finish as it will be daytime only and just Spring, Summer and early Fall. Also there are very few buildings at this field so that should cut down on building time quite a bit. This one is located in Texas and while I've never heard of it, it seems to be very popular. I've posted an early image so maybe some one from the area might recognize it. Texas-2023-nov-18-001 by Ed Wells, on Flickr More later!

Just tried using the DC-3 for flight today and couldn't get the classic or retro-fit autopilots systems to function. Tested on several flight attempts including restarting MSFS and uninstall & re-install of the DC-3 and DC-3 enhanced packages. Retrofit: VS digits flicker and dance between different numerical values. "AP" light comes on, but Hdg & Nav functions do not light up or engage. Altitude setting impossible because of the VS/Alt numbers spazing out. Classic: Ap engages, but as soon as it does, the Elevator adjust rotates all the way to the stop and won't move back. Aircraft goes into a decent that can only be canceled by shutting off the AP. Aircraft doesn't lock on to any heading and keeps circling. I just used the DC-3 without issues a little while back. I think the...

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category P3D / P4D Add-Ons - Military aircraft Description: The Westland Whirlwind was a British twin-engined fighter developed by Westland Aircraft. A contemporary of the Supermarine Spitfire and Hawker Hurricane it was the first single-seat, twin-engined, cannon-armed fighter of the Royal Air Force When it first flew in 1938 the Whirlwind was one of the fastest combat aircraft in the world and with four 20 mm Hispano-Suiza HS.404 autocannon in its nose, the most heavily armed.Protracted development problems with its Rolls-Royce Peregrine engines delayed the project and only 114 Whirlwinds were built. During the Second World War only three RAF squadrons were equipped with the aircraft and despite its success as a fighter and ground...

Any chance of an ASR spitfire paint like this , coded BA for 277 Sqn, it would fit in with Friston Scenery, ta very much https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235084577-spitfire-asr-mkiic/ https://forums.airshows.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=85421 (or a Defiant..left field choice https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235124770-148-boulton-paul-defiant-asr-mki-finished/) And if rest of you wondering what ASR Spitfires did.. they were rapid intervention and top cover for downed aircrew until they could be picked up by rescue launches or amphibious aircraft ( like Walrus, or Catalina); their first task on scene was to drop a dinghy pack (they carried them in the flare chutes in the fuselage) as the spitfires used on squadrons did not carry a dinghy as a...

A beautiful exterior model, deserves some nice repaints. The problem is, it's an FSX model, and MSFS has a completely different file structure. So, I noticed there were liveries "disabled" in the ported over package including - 2 gorgeous RCAF liveries. I set out to try and enable them. Here's what I did. Step by Step: Open the F86 Sabre folder, navigate inward to the "texture.RCAF_417" livery folder, open and look at the files. Notice the _T files. They are the Albedos but will remain named as _T files. More about this later. Notice the orientation of the wing texture. See it points upward from the bottom left to the top right. All of these _T textures (there are 7 of them) need to be flipped, renamed, and converted. Open paint.net. Open all 7 of the _T texture files in the...

I plan to clone my SSD that has my system's OS (Win 11) to a faster SSD. My question is, once I have successfully cloned the drive, I should be able to shut my system down, install the newly-cloned SSD in place of the original SSD, and all "should" operate as normal? NC

    SgtT started a thread C-5 Galaxy in Prepar3D V1-4
Hello everyone I've been looking for a C-5 galaxy that would work in P3Dv4. I found some FSX/FS2004 versions but alas they don't work in P3DV4. Does anyone know if there ever was a conversion to work with P3Dv4? If not is there anyone that could convert the FSX/FS2004 freeware aircraft to P3Dv4? I also saw that Military AI Works has a P3Dv4 C-5 AI aircraft. Could that be made flyable with the addition of a panel and VC? Thanks, Rob
