The C.R. 32 was an evolution of previous models of Ing. Celestino Rosatelli biplanes family. It was a very manouvrable and affordable aircraft and gained a good reputation during the civil war in Spain, 1936-39; opposed to the faster I-16 monoplanes the italian and spanish highly-skilled pilots obtained a victories-losses ratio of 3:1. Service continued in the Regia Aeronautica during the early stages of WWII and the last units were finally retired in 1941.
